Prayer of the Righteous

The Hebrew word Tefilah when translated into English means "prayer." It means to beseech, implore, request. In layman terms, it means to communicate to God. What do we communicate to the Most High God? The answer is found in the book of James 5:13-15 “Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick?”, prayers made in faith will bring deliverance. It is a command, that we pray to our Heavenly Father.

We read in the book of 1 Kings 13:1-16 that a man of God arrives at Bethel when King Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn the incense. This man of God prophesied against the king as commanded by God. King Jeroboam was infuriated on hearing it and shouted: “Seize that man!” But instantly the king’s hand became paralyzed in that position, and he couldn’t pull it back. The king cried out to the man of God, “Please ask the Lord your God to restore my hand!” So, the man of God prayed to the Lord, and the king’s hand was restored, and he could move his hand again.
SCRIPTURE to LIFE

When we pray earnestly to God, our prayers will be answered. For the Lord delights in the prayer of the righteous. To become righteous, you have to diligently follow God’s Word and act accordingly. Besides charitable acts, a firm faith in the Lord and believing His promises will make you righteous. As the Bible clearly says that God credited Abraham’s faith as righteousness (Romans 4:22). Stay strong in the Lord even during bad times and God promises to be with you and work wonders for you. Live a life pleasing in His sight and your prayers will be a sweet aroma to the Almighty God.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father, I seek Your grace to follow Your Word every day of my life. Grant me the courage to stay strong even during my hardships. Lord, I place a firm trust in You, for you alone can deliver me and bless me with prosperous days.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen
