Give Thanks To The Lord For He Is Good

Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran
23 Dec
Dear Precious ones,
Amidst so many struggles that you go through, I’m sure you may be having some reason to rejoice for. In the bible, it is said, that King David too was joyous and thanked the Lord for His goodness. You too should be grateful to the Lord for what He has done in your life and is still doing.

It is very common to be thankful when we have all that we want. But we forget to thank God, the minute we face a troubling situation. But when you thank God in the midst of all your pains and sorrows, you will be filled with His joy.   “I will extol the LORD at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.” (Psalm 34:1)
Now I will tell you about a family, who celebrated Christmas in its true meaning. During the Christmas festival, they will place a special table and chair for our Lord Jesus Christ. And with much ease, they will lay the table celebrate the feast as if our Lord was present in the physical form. Once, a visitor visited their house and was keenly watching all this. Out of curiosity he called the little girl and asked her, whether she has all that she wants for Christmas. On hearing this, the girl replied, that she didn’t want anything for Christmas rather to please Jesus she has bought gifts for the poor and the needy children. The visitor was awestruck with this reply of hers. What a unique way to celebrate Christmas! Can you imagine the love for Jesus the family had?
We all should replicate this way of celebrating Christmas. The best way to show our gratitude to the Lord for all His goodness in our lives is to thank Him, sing songs of gladness and help the poor. This act of yours will please the Lord. And this way, you bring down God’s blessing unto your entire family.

Also, when I celebrated birthday of my son, Samuel, the entire family and all the relatives gathered and thanked the Lord. Though both his grandfathers were unwell, they were filled with immense joy, for his birthday. They caressed him, played with him and their hearts were full of joy.

Today, I want you to make this Christmas very special. Try to reach out to the poor, to the ones’ in desperate need. And you will receive a manifold blessing from the lord. The bible says, if you help the poor, you are doing it for the Lord, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40) As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who humbled Himself for us, let’s offer Him our best gift. The gift of helping the needy and singing praises to His name. It’s my desire that, “your heart too shall be filled with the same joy, this festive season of Christmas.”
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for all your goodness in my life. May I make this Christmas a special one, by reaching out to the destitute and helping them in all possible ways.
I ask this in the matchless name of Jesus.
Amen
