God assures our prayers.

The Lord will answer us immediately when we call upon Him during our times of terrible hardship when tempests, troubles and anguish strike us. He will also deliver us and save us. But if we do not desire to grow in the knowledge of God and do not heed to His counsel, He will not answer our prayers but rather, He will be silent. As Bible clearly tells “When distress and anguish come upon you…I will not answer…they did not choose the fear of the Lord.”(Proverbs 1:27-29) let’s fear the Lord taking delight in Him and heed His word.

The members of a family lived a luxurious life according to their hearts desire. They neither went to church nor sought the Lord. The worldly pleasures that bring the wrath of God gave them happiness and they only lived as name-sake Christians and wasted their life time. Joyce, a member of that family was studying in a college and when she saw the good qualities of her classmate and how she excelled in her studies, she asked her about the secret of her success. She found out that she was the daughter of a pastor and that they were ardent seekers of the Lord. So, the Lord had blessed them abundantly. This truth was a surprise to Joyce. Then, she joined her friend in seeking the Lord and was filled with the joy of salvation. Finally, she realized the greatness of living a true Christian life and she prayed that even her family members should receive the joy that she had received.
Indeed, God would have answered her prayers because our God is a prayer answering God. He has not only given that promise but He has also encouraged us to not fear. The Bible says, “Do not be afraid, for your prayer is heard” (Luke 1:13).  God must have been really pleased to hear the prayers of Joyce, for she prayed that her family must receive Jesus as their personal Savior.
Likewise, when we pray, let us pray for the will of God to be fulfilled in our lives. Let’s be delighted in the presence of God for the word of God says “Take delight in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4) .
Prayer:
Blessed Father! Change my life to cling on to you always. Help me to fear You in my life from today onwards and follow only Your ways. Give me the grace to be set free from all troubles. Lead me in the path you want me to go, O Father, Amen.
