" I will not leave you orphas; I will come to you" (John 14:18)
My dear sisters, how happy our painful heart is made by this wonderful promise! What the Bible says, ‘He who promised is faithful’ (1 Thess. 5:24; Hebrews 10:23), is true.
Today, scores of women lan- guish in agony, saying, “I am an orphan; I don’t have anyone to help me or show me love...” Several such women write to me their agonies and request me to pray for them. Also, plenty are the women who share their difficulties with me in person and request for prayers. The reason, this world has no love. There is no love among family members. These days, even the love between parents and children is on the decline. Hence there is no peace in the family. Also, since the mother-in- law and daughter-in-law keep finding fault with each other, today so many daughters-in-law are longing for love. Likewise, the miseries undergone by some godly mothers-in-law because of the ungodly daughters-in-law who have no love, is inexpressible. What should we do for this loveless state in families to be changed?
We need to hold on to the Lord who is able to keep us away from becoming orphans. He is the One, who pours this divine love into us. About this we read in I John 4:8,16 that ‘God is love’. When we get filled with this divine love, the Lord would lead us to be a blessing to others.
My dear sisters, the most important thing that you need to observe is to first get filled with the Lord’s love which would keep you under His wings, protect you and guard you from becoming orphans. As I often write, in my life too, for several years, my parents’ love seemed greater to me than the love of the Lord. In those days I never sought for the Lord’s love. I went to church regularly; yet I did not have the experience of holding on to the Lord firmly. Perhaps, like me, you too may be a namesake Christian, without knowing the divine love of the Lord. A small advice from me: First of all kneel down in the presence of the Lord and pray to Him in reverence, saying “Lord Jesus! My loving God, who offered Yourself to be broken on the cross for me! Pour into me Your divine love; wash my sins, transgressions and iniquities with Your sacred blood and cleanse me. Let Your love fill me and let it flow into others.” When you thus plead to the Lord genuinely, God will exceedingly abundantly work in you above all that you ask or think to make you know the love of Christ which passes knowledge and to fill you with all the fullness of God’ (Ephesians 3:19,20). This love is an inexpressible, divine love! There is no comparison between the ordinary worldly love and this divine love. When this love fills you, the Lord would abide with you.
THE LORD WHO DOES NOT LEAVE AS ORPHAN:
First of all learn to look up to God when there is nobody to help you and when you are forsaken and left alone in this world. About this we read thus in the Bible:
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills; From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1,2).
Yes, according to these Scriptures, when you look up to the God of gods, He will be present in your midst! He will grant His sweet presence to all those who look up to Him and seek His help.
Read the history of the woman called Ruth in the Bible. Both she and her mother-in-law had lost everything in life and were in a pitiable state. There was nobody to help them! At this pitiable state, what did Naomi, the mother -in-law do as an example to her daughter-in-law? In that state of nothingness, she sought the God of gods and His love. She placed her entire trust on Him. Ruth, who was one of the two daughters -in-law who witnessed it, sought God’s love and held on to Him saying, ‘And your God, my God’ (Ruth 1:16).
Though she was a Moabite woman, she came under the wings of the Lord as refuge. How did her life change as she took Him as her refuge? God commanded His love, mercy and blessing in her life, abundantly. Both of them held on to the Lord firmly. This is the divine life of living jointly with the Lord and enjoying His love. Though all worldly blessings were less in their lives, the Lord lifted them up from the state of orphans. This was because, according to Ruth 2:12, Ruth sought His love under the ‘wings of God’. This divine love performed a wonder in her life, much to everybody’s amazement. She enjoyed full reward. Though she was ignorant of the Lord, the Father of Israel, she held on to the God of gods saying, ‘You are my God’. Naomi too was an example to her. Hence the Lord filled them with His blessings and riches.
My dear sisters, think about the areas in your life where you face lack! Are you troubled by that? Do you think, ‘Oh, I’ve no one to help me; I am an orphan”? Do not be worried. First of all submit your life in the presence of the Lord. It is the Lord who has given you this promise verse. Read it again and again and hold on to the Lord firmly just as how Naomi and Ruth did, with love. Accordingly, you should not focus your mind on the lusts of this world and other such dirty things but seek the Lord alone. Remove all the other things in your life. We read this in the Bible which says, ‘You shall therefore be holy, for I am holy’ (Leviticus 11:45). Kneel down in the presence of the Lord for a minute and examine your life. Remove all the things that are displeasing to the Lord from your life. About this Paul, when he changed from being Saul, has written as his experience thus:
"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me...” (Galatians 2:20).
You too may please crucify all the things related to the world on the cross. Get filled with the holiness granted by the Lord. Then the Lord will change your life into a divine life just as how He changed Saul, who was a ‘vessel of wrath’ into a ‘vessel of mercy’ and was with Him, without leaving him as an orphan and used him mightily. The eyes of the Lord would be always upon you and He will never forsake you. You will never be left as orphans. When you seek the help of the Lord diligently, He will fill you with His divine love and lead you to arise and shine for His glory. Dear sisters who want such kind of blessing and who want your life to be changed, please write to me immediately. I am ready to pray for you specially. May the Lord bless you!
