The Lord Who Rebuilds

Dearly beloved Ruth did know the Almighty God and belonged to a non-Jewish family. She was taken into marriage by a Jewish family and thereby she became the sister-in-law of Naomi. A man from Bethlehem named Elimelek took his wife Naomi and his two sons went to Moab to find food and ended up staying there to live. Both sons also passed away leaving Naomi with her two foreign daughter-in-laws. She decided to go back to Bethlehem in Judah and told Orpah and Ruth to stay in Moab and find new husbands. While Orpah returned to her mother's home, Ruth clung to Naomi and told her “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God."(Ruth 1:16).

According to the verse "How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you." (Psalm 31:19) Ruth joined with Naomi and sought after the living God. The empty lives of theirs were filled with the abundant grace of God. "The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them." (Psalm 145:18-19).Ruth and Naomi lived piously for God by throwing away their gods and by looking up to the only true God. The Lord filled Ruth with great character that the people from the city looked at her and respected her highly. She had given herself to great obedience to her in-laws and to the word of God. Due to this the blessings of God came upon Ruth. The Lord built the life of Ruth according to the verse from Proverbs 3:33 "The LORD blesses the home of the righteous." Through Naomi's spiritual advice, Ruth was married to a man named Boas and also gave birth to her daughter named Obed which made her in-laws happy. Her entire city was proud of her.

Yes my dearly beloved, "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." (Psalm 127:1). You may be in the midst of any dark situation such as loss, sorrow and loneliness. I urge you to cling on to God just like Ruth. Give God your first preference all the time. When you confess that you do not need anything more than God and hold tight to His feet, our Lord is glorious to rebuild your lives too. He will meet all your needs and bless your family. Our Lord will be with you in all that you do make you as a channel of blessing.
Prayer:

Most holy God, I praise you and lift your name on high. I thank you for consoling me from my deepest sorrows. I will give you all the preference from my heart and in my family. Lord, abide in my house. You be our rock and fortress. Lead our family with your righteous right hand. Lord, fulfill the desires of my heart. Build our family and our house. Help me to walk in righteous ways. I pray this prayer in Jesus name, Amen.
