The Incomparable Gift - Jesus The Redeemer

Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

Dearly Beloved,
The bible begins with the ever beautiful narration of the creation. Amongst all, the amazing creation of God, is the mankind, where we are all created in His image and likeness, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them,” (Genesis 1:27). God created man without any flaw but when man devised his own ways and plans he became corrupt and sinful and invited the wrath of God. But our God is a loving Father, His mercies and grace never comes to an end, “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift.” (2 Corinthians 9:15)

Do you know why we celebrate Christmas? Yes, it is marked as the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. But there’s a great deeper meaning to it- God loves you. He doesn’t want His creation to perish, but want to give His children, life eternal, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life,” (John 3:16). Jesus humbled Himself even to death on the cross, only because of you. He took away all your sins, your pains and sorrows. He came to save His people from sin, that’s what the name, Jesus, means- The Redeemer. God sacrificed His Son, so that you and your loved ones can be saved.
Here, I will tell you how a young boy’s life was transformed during Christmas. This boy had joined a bad company to celebrate Christmas. They spent their time in all acts of wrongdoing. After the celebration, the boy was left alone in a miserable condition. All his friends abandoned him and left for their places. At this time, he had a vision, where he saw, Jesus on the cross on one side and baby Jesus lying in a manger on the other side. From both sides, he was questioned, “Don’t you want this gift?” He was touched by this and repented before the Lord, for all his shameful acts. He was regretting for not understanding the worth of this precious gift. Jesus transformed him and he became a child of God.

Likewise, are you aware of such a valuable gift? Make this Christmas special by celebrating it in the true sense of sharing and caring for the needy and by welcoming Jesus into your life. God loves you and He doesn’t want any of you to perish. He’s ready to pull you out from your troubles and bless you abundantly. The only thing He requires is that, you to turn to Him. Doing this you will experience joy, “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.”( Isaiah 12:3 -4)
Prayer:
Mighty God, I come before you to seek your forgiveness. Give me the Grace to understand your love for me, for which you sacrificed your son, Jesus Christ. Wash me, cleans me and make me acceptable to you.
I ask this, in the name of Jesus. Amen
