God Never Fails

The words of promise from the angel Gabriel to Mary, “ For with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37) still rings true to us. Before sent to Mary, Gabriel was also sent to Zechariah prophesying the birth of John to him. When Zechariah expressed concern as to how this would happen as he was old and his wife too was well along in years, the angel said, “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news. And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their appointed time” (Luke 1:19-20). True to what the angel had spoken to Zechariah, John was born. Similarly the Word of the Lord was sent to Mary and the birth of Jesus was prophesied. There the angel concludes by saying, “For no word from God will ever fail” to assure Mary that God’s word will come true.

There was once a school going boy. Every day while he was on his way back from school, he saw a traffic policeman lifting his hand up and when the traffic policeman lifted his hand, all the vehicles stopped. One day when the traffic policeman lifted his hand, all the vehicles stopped except one vehicle. The little boy noticed it and he ran towards him and asked him about it. The traffic policeman replied, “Oh, if I would stop that vehicle, I would have to lose my job because the car belongs to a prominent person.” Similarly in this world, as humans, we have certain limitations but our Almighty God does not have any limitations to help us.
In this world, we have many relations but many a times they cannot fulfil the promises they make to us. But when our Lord gives us a promise He fulfils it. Jacob, the son of Isaac, fled from his native place in fear of his brother Esau. When he was on his way to his uncle's house, the Lord appeared to him and promised him that He will bless him. Jacob went to his uncle's house stayed there and got married. He lived a prosperous life and the Lord blessed him just as He had spoken. Jacob believed and trusted in the Lord and waited at His feet for 20 years and the Lord blessed him. In the same way when we wait at the feet of the Lord, surely He will heal us and fill us with His presence and will bless us. He is a mighty God and nothing is impossible for our Lord. The counsel of humans shall only bring us failures, but when the Lord does something for us, it is powerful and marvellous. When we believe in the Lord and wait at his feet, He will surely fulfil His promises for us.
Prayer:
Lord, You are the God of wonders. We cannot understand the depth of Your greatness and majesty. We are so privileged to have You as our Lord and Savior. Lord, there is nothing impossible by You and that is why I commit all my difficulties and sorrows into Your hands. I believe that You will turn my situations around and make me abound with joy. I submit my life into Your mighty hands. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
