Mom: Peter...Have you finished wrapping your books?”

Peter: No mom. I don’t want to go to school. It’s boring. Same subjects...and exams...

Mom: Peter, more than me and your dad, Jesus is waiting to see the fruit of your talents.

Peter: No...Am not going. I am afraid.

Mom: Peter, even in the Bible, Jacob at one point was afraid and tired and so he took a stone for a pillow and slept. He lost all his interest in life. But God did not leave him.

Peter: Did God beat Jacob?

Mom: No...my dear son. God gave him a dream. In that dream, Jacob saw angels climbing up and down a ladder.

Peter: Hmmm... very interesting. What happened then?

Mom: God promised Jacob that He will be always with him wherever he goes and will never forsake him.

Peter: That should have made Jacob jump up high...right?

Mom: Yes! Peter, you look tired now. Go and take a nap now. I will wake you after some time. You have only few more days to get ready for school.

Peter: Thanks mom. I love you. (Peter went into a trance. Waking up from his dream, he ushered to his mother who was sipping her tea)

Peter: Mom, Jacob’s dream in the Bible should be very true. Because, I saw many angels in my dream now... when I took my nap.

Mom: Is it? Go ahead...

Peter: One angel was holding a new book with ‘Opportunity’ engraved on it. Inside the book was written, ‘Behold, I make all things new’. Another angel took me to a place filled with very big light. But I heard a voice from that,

‘Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go.’ Mummy, at that moment, I felt like superman in my heart!

Mom: Wow... God has spoken to you!

Peter: That’s what God spoke to Jacob too. Is it not, Mummy?

Mom: Yeah

Peter: Mom, I’m not afraid anymore. I will see this new school year as a year of opportunity to learn and win more accolades. I will sharpen my talents. I will read my Bible every day. What else mom?

Mom: (Smiling) Just go and continue wrapping your notebooks (saying so, thrusted a new school bag into his hands with a superman figure imprinted on it!)

(Dad saw everything and smiled at his son proudly. Peter pulled his dad and mom to join him in prayer)

Peter: Dearest Lord! I enter this new class in my school with new understanding. I look at this new school year as a great opportunity to exalt you. I throw away all bad habits which will not lead me into excellence. Give me new ideas. Sharpen my talents. Help me to be with you always. Thank you for you will be always with me to care and provide. Glorify your name through me. In Jesus loving name I pray. Amen.

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10).
