Instead of always asking God to bless us more, we should practice to thank God for the blessings that He has given us which others might not have. When we begin to thank God for all that He has provided, He will bless us with His abundance and make us delight in Him.

“My mouth will tell of your righteous deeds, of your saving acts all day long - though I know not how to relate them all.” (Psalm 71:15)

Yes, my dear friends, just as David writes, let us also continually thank Him for all the things the Lord has done for us and for the blessings He’s bestowed upon us. Our praise should always flow from a heart of gratitude. The Lord doesn’t need our lip service but He is a God who knows the deepest intents of our hearts. Therefore it is important to have a heart that is not only demanding for blessings but is constantly thankful for God’s goodness.

The Lord gives us such a great salvation. The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Salvation is the gift of God to us. The Bible says “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household” ( Acts 16:31). God not only gives salvation to an individual but to our entire household. God gives us great salvation which is a gift from God.

I am reminded of the time when my mother was the only one in our family who knew the Lord. Her husband and relatives didn’t believe in the Lord and so she was praying for the salvation of her entire household for a long time. She fasted once a week and even dedicated one of her children to serve the Lord. The Lord honored her prayers and transformed her husband. From that day onwards we used to pray together as a family, praising God and thanking Him for the great salvation He gave our family. We began to read the word of God and pray to God. As we thanked God for this salvation, miracles and blessings came one after the other.

I am blessed today only through her prayers. I am what I am because of her prayers. If you are praying for the salvation of your husband/wife/ children/household, the Lord will surely remember your house. God has plans to give us great blessings which will satisfy us.

“Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.” Psalm 40:5

God says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

Things work out for the good of those who love Him, and who are called by the Lord. What a wonderful promise the Lord gives us blessing through His word. If God says “all things” that means all things will work for your good when you love the Lord. Just as He promised, He has a wonderful plan for you, to give you a hope and a future. When the Lord starts to bless you there will be no sorrow in it. The Bible says in Proverbs 10:22, “The blessing of the Lord brings wealth, without painful toil for it.”

There was a rich man by the name of Rockefeller. He was once asked by a reporter “How much wealth was needed to be satisfied?” He replied, “Just a little more would be enough.” The world can never satisfy our desires. Only God can generate that feeling of contentment within us and satisfy us. That is why He says that “I have a beautiful plan for you.” God has plans to give us great blessings which will satisfy us.
