The desires of the righteous – Granted!

Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

We read in Romans 3:24 “All are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”  Out Lord Jesus Christ lovingly reached out to Saul, a wicked man who was against Christ. We read this in the book of Acts, chapter 9.  Apostle Paul writes as such: “Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief. The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.” (1Timothy 1: 12-14)

Yes dearly beloved, when God’s grace descends on us, He makes the riches of His glory known to the objects of His mercy (Romans 9:23). Even though Saul did wicked things against Christ, the grace and mercy of our Lord came upon him and filled him with His love and power and enabled him to serve the Lord. Even today, the love that flows generously from the cross is the greatest treasure. Jesus cleanses us with His blood and makes us righteous. Bible says, “Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him” (Romans 5:9)! The word of God also says that the eyes of our Lord is always on the righteous (Psalm 34:15 ; 1 Peter 3:12). This is what we read in Ephesians 3:20 which says, that the Lord is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.
A family lived a life as such; that was pleasing to the Lord but their relatives and neighbours considered them to have lost their minds.  However, that family clung on to God and led a pious and righteous life. The life was pleasing in the sight of God. They prayed together as a family, everyday; they feared the Lord and walked in righteous ways. Due to this the Lord changed all their sorrows and granted things greater than their desires. The eyes of their relatives and others were opened at that time. They realized that it is the family’s love for God which has lifted them to great heights. They too began to seek the Lord leaving behind their pride, joining with this godly family.

Yes my dear readers, if you turn your ways to the Lord and await the grace of God, He will surely bring such blessings in your life too.
Prayer:
Our Loving Heavenly Father, speak to the hearts of those who lead a wicked and unpleasant life. Reveal to them their wicked ways and show them how you changed Saul into Paul. Let your love and grace come upon them and let your blood cleanse them. May the wisdom of Christ empower them! Fill them with your blessings beyond their hearts desire. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
