“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.” (3 John 2)

It is His desire and heart that we prosper in all things. He wants our spirit to prosper.

We are precious in His sight

"whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” (James 4:14, 15)

We and even those who see us may think that we are ordinary people. But we are precious, a priceless treasure in the eyes of God.

If you happen to see a diamond before it is carved, it will look ugly just like a lump of rock. Once, a person gave a big rock into the hands of the craftsman and asked him to carve it, beautify it and make it into a diamond. He took that stone in his hand and for a whole year wondered how to carve it so that he could beautify it. After a year he planned on what to do, he started carving it, removed all the dust and beautified it. He placed a value tag with the amount on it and everybody wanted to catch a glimpse of the diamond. This is how the Lord carves even our lives and makes us to shine like a diamond.

Similarly, the Lord knows our inward parts and sees the beauty found deep within our heart. He thinks to Himself, “How should I carve My children so that they will become beautiful?” Man sees the face but the Lord sees the heart.

“… you who seek God, your hearts shall live.” (Psalm 69:32)

Commit your soul to the Lord

There was a king of a very prominent kingdom. He had 4 wives and he was very fond of his 4th wife. He would buy clothes and accessories and anything she asked for. The third wife was a very beautiful woman and so he would take her to the other kingdoms to show her beauty to them and feel proud. The second wife was wise and prudent. The king would run to her, listen to her words and solve his problems. The first wife was a faithful person. But the king loved his other three wives and would not even behold his first wife.

Once, the king fell ill and as he lay in bed, the doctors told him that he will surely die. The king got scared as he thought, ‘who would come along with me when I die?’, and called all the 4 wives. He started with the 4th wife and the 3rd and 2nd, but all of them refused to accompany him and there was a great commotion, then the 1st wife shouted, “I am there for you and I will come with you when you die. Whatever happens, I don’t care but I will come with you.”

The 4th wife represents our body. The 3rd wife denotes the assets and affluence of this world. The 2nd wife denotes our relatives, friends and the people who are acquainted with us. The first wife denotes our soul. This soul will only come with us when we die. Many times, we seldom notice this soul.

Let us ask Him to dwell in our heart. If He lives within you, Your soul will live and never die. Man and even the devil cannot take a hold of it.

Surrender your heart to the Lord

According to 2 Thessalonians 3:5, “Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.”

He will direct us into the patience of Christ. The Lord will be more pleased with us if we are patient with rude people. This is a sign that you have acquired the wisdom of God. Jesus was also patient likewise. We read in Proverbs 19:11 that the discretion of a man makes him slow to anger and his glory is to overlook a transgression. Jesus has set an example for us to follow. We read in the Bible that He did not open His mouth but was patient. He is going to direct even you to this patience. The Bible tells us, “When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.” Are men lashing out at you? Are they crushing you? He says, “I will be by my child’s side and look upon him.” Let us accept his call. According to 3 John 2 that says, “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers” He is going to prosper you.
