HIS HONOURDate: 30-08-2010 Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: His hope and faith did to go in vain.
Once, there was an official who was very sincere and faithful in his work. Yet, because of false accusations by jealous people, he was temporarily suspended from his work. It broke his heart. He even contemplated on committing suicide. However, the next moment, he saw the vision of the cross before his eyes. With a firm mind, he prayed to God. “Alas! For my sins and shortcomings and for the curses that should come on my heard, Oh Lord, how You suffered patiently on the cross. Now, I know how You defeated the power of the death on the cross and gave us victory. Right now, You are seated on the right hand of the Father in heaven. Lord, give me the same strength to bear all humiliations in my life and to taste the victory at the end”.
His hope and faith did to go in vain. Shortly the real culprit was spotted from within the office members and the innocent person’s suspension order was revoked. The management apologized to him for the trauma he had to undergo on account of their mistake. He was reinstated to his former position. Following this incident, he received promotions and his salary was doubled. God honoured him with name and fame in his office and granted him a blessed life.
In our life, when everything goes on well we feel happy. But, if we face some sudden adversities, our life changes upside down. When our dear daughter Angel was alive, we enjoyed every moment of our life with her. When we cherished the dreams concerning her future, exceedingly great joy filled our hearts.
However, all of a sudden in a fraction of a second our lives were plunged into darkness when we lost her in an accident. Normally when troubles and dangers approach us, our strength fails us and we feel weak. Yet, we should remember that our God through the power of His Holy Spirit gives power to the weak and increases strength (Isaiah 40:29). This is the experience God gave us and helped our family and our ministry to grow and be happy in life (Acts 1:8).
Dear Friend! Look to God in times of trouble. God is our refuge and strength and a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). The children of God should never take hasty decisions and make evil plans in times of danger and trouble. They should trust God with all their heart and wait patiently on Him for their deliverance and freedom. Then, He will help you to go up in your life by His power and might and He will honour you (Isaiah 61:7).
Prayer:
Precious Saviour,
How great are the good things that You have stored for them that believe You and trust You. I understand this truth and submit my life in Your nail pierced hands. From today, whatever happens to me, I will never leave You. I will depend on You and live in You at all times. In the redeeming name of our Lord Jesus, I pray.
Amen. |
