Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ took a lowly form and walked upon this earth as an ordinary person wearing ordinary clothes. Multitude came in search of Him to be healed of their sicknesses and to hear His gracious words. It is stated in the Bible that power proceeded forth from Him to heal all those who touched Him (Luke 6:19). Although there was no pomp and outward splendour in His attire power came out from within Him to heal all those who were troubled in life. Therefore, people sought to somehow touch Him. It is recorded in the Bible about a certain woman, who had a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any. She came from behind and touched the border of the garment of Jesus Christ. And immediately her flow of blood stopped (Luke 8:43, 44). God perceived power going out from Him. On this day, we are called to touch the garment of our Lord Jesus Christ, cling on to Him so that His mighty power will surge into our sinful body and make us whole.
Apostle Paul says, "so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;” (Acts 17:27). Our heavenly Father sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ into this world so that His children might grope for Him and find Him somehow. Jesus Christ is alive for evermore and we can experience His presence in our midst because His power descends to heal the people who call upon His name in truth.
Blessed is the person whose trust is on the Almighty God. "Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord." (Luke 1:45). For surely there is a hereafter, And your hope will not be cut off (Proverbs 23:18). Dear Friend! Our Lord Jesus Christ is the embodiment of love and compassion. In Him is the power to perform miracles for anyone. Blessed are you who have come seeking the Lord.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus Christ,
I praise and thank You for all the goodness, mercy, grace and kindness You have bestowed in my life thus far. I confess that You are an incomparable God, mighty and powerful who is the source of all wisdom, knowledge and blessings. Help me to find favour in Your eyes that I may somehow grope for You and find You. Open my eyes that I may see the wondrous works of Your law. Enable me to see Your provision which You have kept in abundance for me, Your divine protection, Your jubilation – rejoicing in Your name, Your divine visions and Your call for proclamation of Your name upon the face of this earth.
In Your precious name I pray.
