FEAR GOD FOR HIS GRACEDate: 14-08-2010 Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: Plead with Him to bless you and make you a source of blessing
Whenever we seek the Lord as a family, we must sing songs of praises and thank Him for His grace and mercy. Then more of His grace shall abound in our lives (Psalm 103:11, 17). The Lord delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love (Psalm 147:11).
It will be easy for you to obey your parents when you have the fear of God even from your childhood. Dear Friend! The grace of God is vital for you to walk in the ways of God instead of following your own whims and fancies. To those who are zealous about leading a righteous life, God shall also increase His grace in their lives (Psalm 32:10).
My parents brought me up in godliness from my childhood. They were particular about attending worship services in the church regularly. They closely observed me and disciplined me in the fear of God. The devout life of my parents prompted me to do for the Lord in my heart. Though a timid person by nature, God gave me His grace in a wonderful manner at His appointed time and encouraged me to carry out His ministry.
Once I participated in a Gospel Meeting conducted in a small church. In that meeting a servant of God from another country delivered the word of God. Suddenly he prophesied, “There is a sister sitting here. She shall write plenty of books for the glory of God.” I was sitting in a corner in the last row. when the preacher said, “If the Lord speaks to you please come forward and testify for His glory.” I sat tightly in a corner telling myself, “I am not worthy of this calling. I neither have the power nor the grace for this.” But that servant of God came straight to me and said, “Sister, you are that person. Please come forward.” I stepped forward shivering.
Even my husband was seated on that dais as a servant of God. When he opened his eyes to see who that blessed woman was, he found me – his wife, standing there. He wondered within, “Is my wife going to write books?’ I who was such a timid and shy person have become a part of such a great ministry purely by the grace of God. The Lord filled me with His wisdom and graciously enabled me to write many books according to His word. He also graciously helped me to win a “National Award” for the Hindi version of my first book entitled “Priceless Pearl”.
Dear Friend, when God chooses you and gives His grace, no one can stop your progress. Your wisdom and intelligence are but trash before the wisdom of God. Just as how Mary declared, “I am blessed among woman” God will make you also a blessed person. He shall help you to arise and shine for His glory. Surrender your life to the will of God just as Mary did. Plead with Him to bless you and make you a source of blessing (James 4:6; Proverbs 3:34, 1 Peter 5:5). Mary was a humble person as desired by God and that is why she became a blessed person. Similarly when you lead a life fearing God with all humility, He shall certainly make you a blessed person.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
Please give me the virtue of humility that I may have godly fear. The Bible says, ‘The fear of the Lord is beginning of knowledge”. I firmly believe that in You are hidden the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. May your grace abound in my life and that of my dear ones. Help us to find favour in Your eyes just as how mother Mary and Moses were blessed. On this day fill us with the anointing of the Holy Spirit that we may also sojourn in this world doing good works for Your glory.
In Your matchless name I pray.
Amen. |
