Gist:  Make a decision to return to God and beg of Him to grant you His grace.

Our Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness (Nehemiah 9:17). God in His great mercy did not utterly consume His children nor forsook them; He is a gracious and merciful God. Our great, mighty and awesome God is One who keeps covenant and mercy (Nehemiah 9:31, 32).

God makes Him known to Moses – the prophet who saw Him face to face by saying that He is the Lord, the Lord God who is merciful, gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth…” (Exodus 34:6). The Psalmist says, “But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, gracious, longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth” (Psalm 86:15). Furthermore, he says, “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy.” (Psalm 103:8).

The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. Psalm 145:8). Our Lord has many names. One among them is, “God who gives grace”. Our God is a God of grace and compassion. The psalms of David contain many short prayers. David cries out to God saying, “Do not withhold Your mercy from me, O Lord, may Your love and Your truth always protect me.”

“When Moses entered the Tent of Meeting to speak with God, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubims above the atonement cover on the ark of the Testimony. And he spoke with Him.” (Numbers 7:89). Moses conveyed to the people what God spoke about them. In the same way God has also given us the privilege of having a closer walk with Him.

In the Bible we read, “Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). If your relationship with God is good continue to have a close walk with Him and ask Him to shower His grace in abundance upon you. If you feel you have gone astray, you can still make a new beginning by pleading for His grace.

It is recorded in the Bible that king Hezekiah sent runners to make known to his subjects that, “for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him" (2 Chronicles 30:9). Make a decision to return to God and beg of Him to grant you His grace. On this day, our incomparable God who is full of grace and mercy shall shower His grace upon You and prosper everything that you set your hands upon and make you happy. Be of good cheer!

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

I praise and thank You because Your mercies are unending and they are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness that we are not consumed. Please shower Your grace and mercy upon me in abundance on this day. Enable me to reflect Your virtues of having love and compassion and being slow to anger on my fellow-beings. Help me to exalt Your name in everything that I do on this day. May my thoughts, words and deeds bring glory to Your name now and forever.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.
