OVERCOMING FEARDate: 11-08-2010
Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: The place where you dwell shall shake and miracles shall happen.
Fear prevents our close walk with God. One who fears cannot arise and shine for God. Therefore, on this day, we as children of God should overcome fear following the footsteps of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. When the Holy Spirit showed Jesus Christ that which was going to happen, He surrendered Himself to the will of His Father. It was then Judas, one of His disciples came to Him in order to betray Him along with the soldiers of the Chief Priest.
Immediately, Simon called as Peter - one of the disciples of Jesus Christ, drew his sword out and struck the servant of the High Priest named Malchus (Matthew 26:47-53).
Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword back in its place. Do you think I cannot call on My Father, and He will at once put at My disposal more than twelve legions of angels? But I have surrendered Myself to the will of God. So none of these people can harm Me or overcome Me. Even at this moment I would do only My Father’s will.”
Then Jesus Christ touched the ear of that servant and healed it thus revealing His incomparable power. The power of the Holy Spirit overcame the fear of the flesh. The Bible says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7).
When the power of the Holy Spirit which descended upon the Lord Jesus Christ descends upon you, you will be able to see the will of God, the plan He has for your future and the goodness and the exaltation He has in store for you. Then you shall not be afraid of the people who come against you. You would boldly tell them, “A thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand but it will not come near me. I will only observe them with my eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. The anger or the threatening of these evil people shall never overcome me. The Lord shall certainly fulfill the plan that He has for my future. My eyes shall only look at them. I shall even show the love of Jesus to these evil people. The Lord shall watch over these evil people and he shall be with me and perform signs and wonders.” By the mighty power of the Holy Spirit the place where you dwell shall shake and miracles shall happen.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Give me the grace to submit to Your will always. Help me not to turn left or right but to keep in the middle of Your Highway. May Your perfect will for me come to pass in my life. I trust that You are incomparable and Your ways and thoughts concerning me are far better and beyond my understanding. Not by might, nor by power but through the Holy Spirit I believe that I can overcome fear and attempt great things for You in the precious life which you have granted to me.
