God never ignores but listens and answers the prayer of destitute (Psalm 102:17). Jesus Christ has promised, “Whoever comes to me I will never drive away” (John 6:37). The Bible says, “For He has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to His cry for help” (Psalm 22:24).
God shall certainly answer our prayer when we call upon Him. When I got married I thought, “Now everything shall be a blessing in my life. God will grant me happiness alone”. However, the Lord allowed me to traverse through the valley of tears in order to make me cling firmly to Him. Within six months of my marriage I lost my beloved mother, then after sometime my precious brother and later also my beloved father. I was shattered. I wept, “Oh Lord, what shall I do now? You have taken away the precious members of my family. To whom shall I tell all my needs?”
It was during this time a Jesus Calls Prayer Festival was arranged in a city called Vellore. When I was asked to preach in that meeting I told my husband amidst sobs, “How am I going to tell the gathering that our God is good with such brokenness within me?” Immediately my husband placed his hand on my head and prayed for me. The Holy Spirit spoke to me through my husband. He said, “Why are you crying? The Holy Spirit who is in you is able to do great things even now. When you preach as well as pray, the Holy Spirit shall certainly perform miracles.” Then the Holy Spirit strengthened me. While I stood on the dais, the Holy Spirit fell afresh on me. When I offered prayers for the gathered God delivered countless of people from bondages. The Lord graciously enabled me to see unprecedented miracles that day.
As I was about to leave the dais, a sister who had been tormented by evil spirit rushed and embraced me. She told me with great delight, “Sister, you have come here just for my sake. The Lord delivered me miraculously from the bondage of the devil. I have also received the Holy Spirit. From today onwards I have the confidence to take care of my family”.
Likewise another young girl came and hugged me. With tears in her eyes she told, “Sister, you have come for my sake. Today the Lord filled me with His Holy Spirit and comforted me. I am an orphan. I take care of my brothers and sisters through my earnings. I came to this meeting just crying like you without knowing what I was going to do. The Lord saw my tears. He comforted me through your message today.”
Indeed, God encouraged me through these dear ones. Before going to Vellore I cried in the presence of God and the Holy Spirit filled me. God listened to the prayer of this destitute and answered my cry by performing many miracles.
Dear Friend, God shall certainly answer your prayer, irrespective of the situation you are in. The Bible says, “O You who hear prayer, to you all men will come.” (Psalm 65:2). When we pour out our heart with a great zeal in the presence of God, He shall certainly answer our prayer. “Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them” (Hebrews 7:25).
Our Lord is able to save us completely. He is interceding for us all the time sitting at the right hand of the Father. He shall never despise the tears we shed at His feet. He shall certainly keep your tears in a bottle and reward you richly. The Psalmist says, “Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me!” (Psalm 66:20).
Kindly do not be worried. The Lord will surely listen to your prayer and answer all your requests. Be of good cheer!
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I firmly believe that You are alive forever more to intercede for me. Your plan and purpose concerning me has an appointed time and it will definitely come to pass in my life. I trust that though it seems like endless waiting it will surely come, It will not tarry. The waiting time to see Your plans for my life getting fulfilled sees as if it is getting delayed but I am unaware they definitely are no denials. You will surely hear the cry of this destitute and make my life of wilderness into a well-watered garden. I fall prostrate at Your feet and thank You for all Your goodness and mercy. Prosper all my efforts for this day and make me glad. Place Your divine counsel in my heart and make me walks in the paths of righteousness.
