The Bible says, “That was the true light which gives light to every man coming into the world” (John 1:9). A day of mourning represents the darkness in life. When there is no light, we have some fear and anxiety. Similarly, when sorrow surrounds our life, we suffer and struggle. At that time, it is God who will be a light to those who seek Him. Lord Jesus Christ alone has the power to deliver you from darkness and lead you into the kingdom of His love (Colossians 1:13). The reason being, Jesus is the only begotten Son of God who sojourned on this earth in the form of flesh and overcame the world by offering His body on the cross to give us victory in life (John 16:33; Romans 8:36-37).

From the day I accepted Jesus as my Redeemer, joy and peace bubbled in my soul as never before. I believed and cried, “It is definitely a blessing to serve God all through my life”. To my utter dismay everything that followed seemed to throw emptiness and darkness into my life. One after another sorrow filled my life. Many bad things happened and darkness tried to conquer my peace.

However, the Holy Spirit gave me divine strength, wisdom and grace in such moments whenever darkness engulfed me. God became a fountain of life and in His light I continue to see light (Psalm 36:9). He rolled away my burdens one after another and changed my life completely. For all the sufferings that I had undergone, He gave me joy and blessings in double measure. God continues to perform wonders and miracles beyond my understanding in the midst of some sufferings and problems that crop up now and then.

Dear Fried! It is the Lord Jesus who took away all the sorrows and darkness in my life and made joy, happiness and light to enter into my life. Today, perhaps you feel that you are in darkness and fear what the future would unfold to you. I tell you, “Fear not. God will change everything for good in your life. Do not worry. Seek God at all times and He will surely bless you.” Do only those thing that are dear to Him and He will make you glad (Psalm 90:15).

Prayer

Loving Lord!

How great is Your power! Though my troubles are numerous and my sorrow is endless, today I place in Your hands my future and all that are in it. In this time of darkness, let Your light shine on me. I praise You because You are the light who came to shine on us.

In Your sweet and matchless name I pray.

Amen.
