GOOD TO ALLDate: 02-08-2010 Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: Ponder for a moment. Confess and repent for all your sins today.
When we commit mistakes, God punishes us. However, when we repent for our mistakes and plead, “Lord! Please forgive me” He forgives us in His immense compassion for us. The holy Bible asserts that God’s anger is but for a moment. His favour is for life” (Psalm 30:5).
Moreover, “The Lord is good to all and His tender mercies are over all His works” (Psalm 145:9). His chosen people, the Israelites were stiff-necked people who unaware of His love for them committed many displeasing acts and willful sins having received His commandments. On the contrary, whenever caught in a quagmire they turned back to God seeking His forgiveness and help (1 Samuel 7:8).
The Bible says that God forgave their sins and helped them in miraculous ways (1 Samuel 7:13). Therefore, if you have committed sins against God, kneel down immediately and cry out to Him, “Dear Father! Forgive me”. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7, 9).
A certain young man who although brought up in a disciplined manner always disobeyed his parents. He turned a deaf ear to his parents’ counsel and led a wayward life. His attendance in college was very poor and his precious time was spent in gossiping and loitering. He could not get a job owing to incompletion of his studies and consequently he turned out to be a sore to his parents.
His parents felt that he had gone out of their control and that he would not get back to track. In such a moment as this, one of his schoolmate, an intimate friend of him came to his rescue. This friend a devout follower of Christ who applied Christian principles in life slowly started talking about God and prayed with him whenever he got an opportunity. His efforts were fruitful.
God made him understand His love for him. Moved by God’s unconditional love for him, he wept and begged God for forgiveness. God had compassion on him. He blessed him and gave back to him all the happiness he lost earlier. This made his parents as well as his friend very glad.
Dear Friend! God is full of mercy. You may have committed many sins knowingly or unknowingly. Perhaps you are desperate considering the emptiness of your life. Ponder for a moment. Confess and repent for all your sins today. He will show His mercy to you and from today onwards He shall prosper your life.
Prayer:
Precious Redeemer!
How great is Your mercy and salvation! At all times, You are merciful and ready to save us. Today, have mercy on me and wipe away all my sins. Bless me to lead a holy life. In the blessed name of Jesus, I pray.
Amen. |
