Our expectation from God may be for some insignificant things but we have a God who does awesome, mighty and wonderful acts. He expects you to make a call on His name during times of trouble. 'Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know' (Jeremiah 33:3).
Red Sea flowed majestically before the people of Israel while from behind they were chased by the enemies. In such a tense situation as this, when the people of Israel called upon the name of God, He split the Red Sea into two making them walk on dry land. God definitely answered their prayers and fought for them. We are going to experience and witness His mighty acts. Jesus Christ is the same unchanging yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
The God of the people of Israel is also our God. He will perform innumerable and miraculous acts in our lives (Job 5:9; Job 9:10). He is God who is able to work beyond what we can think or comprehend (Ephesians 3:20). He is all powerful and mighty warrior who could fight against all the powers of darkness. God is able to deliver you from all your problems. Therefore, on this new day granted to you, expect great things from God.
God has given my husband (Dr. Paul Dhinakaran) the precious gift of calling out the names of people who are troubled and broken-hearted and revealing their problems. During a Jesus Calls Prayer Festival conducted in Chennai, my husband called out the name of a certain sister who was praying fervently for her husband. Her husband was afflicted with heart problem. Then my husband called out the name of her husband with these words. “Brother! You are not praying for yourself but your wife is praying with all her heart for your healing. Ask the Lord now to heal you. He is waiting to heal you.” (John 14:14)
Upon hearing these words that man looked to the Lord whole-heartedly and prayed for his healing. God in His immense grace and mercy healed that brother. He became a normal person. On that day that couple rejoiced greatly in the Lord. Both of them came to the stage and testified for the glory of God. That sister told gladly, “God has saved my husband. He will live long to testify the goodness of God in his life.” A fountain of perpetual happiness sprung forth and joy kept bubbling without an end from their hearts. (Isaiah 58:11; Isaiah 35:2)
Likewise, you will also live to testify all the goodness that God does in your life. God is going to perform great and mighty acts in your life. God knows you by name and the problems you are facing right now. He can just pierce through your heart (Hebrews 4;12). Just call on the name of God and He will answer you. Expect great things to happen in your life. God bless you.

Loving heavenly Father,
Quite often caught up in the quagmire of life unable to find light at the end of the tunnel I forget to call upon Your name. Forgive me for turning to or depending on mortal men or material for my help. On this day I firmly believe that You will never fail me because Your love for me is unconditional and everlasting. Give me the grace to seek You first before running in search of help elsewhere. I submit my body, soul and spirit into Your hands to work through me. May Your divine peace engulf me always.
