EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE Date: 02-03-2010 Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: Cheer up! Keep running. It is possible for you.
A young woman started preparing for the Marathon race. During the training, her husband ran along with her encouraging, “Come on! Keep running. Just a little distance more to win the prize! It’s possible for you! It’s possible for you!” This he kept saying repeatedly. Finally, on the day of the actual race she got ready to run and started running with all her might. However, after running some distance she suddenly developed cramps in her legs. Her spirit weighed very low when the thought, “I don’t think it would be possible for me to take another step” crossed her mind. Simultaneously and suddenly she could hear those encouraging words of her beloved husband ricochet, “Cheer up! Keep running. It is possible for you. You will be the winner. Just a little distance to go.” A surge of new strength filled her. Believing to be the topper, in faith she mustered all her might, gained momentum and dashed like a deer to win the fires prize. Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” (Mark 9:23).
If we look up to the Lord always and pour out our heart to Him, He will give us this divine and indomitable faith to us. Further, He will bless us with this divine faith when we read as well as hear His words. When we are watchful in doing this in our lives, He will make us His faithful warriors. According to the above promise verse, He will bless those who hold fast to Him at all situations and circumstances and all time, and will perfect everything for them. Today people especially women, lose heart even for trivial troubles and problems. However, we should never lose heart at any time because we are called to believe that whatever things we ask in prayer we will receive (Matthew 21:22).
Dear Friend! This is faith. In your life also, hear and also read encouraging and edifying words. Then, you will win the race of life. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). After Lazarus died and was buried, Jesus looked at his sister Martha and said, “If you would believe, you would see the glory of God” (John 11:40). He also proved what He said. He would do this in your life also and make you see miracles if you have faith in Him.
Prayer:
Loving Lord!
This life on the earth is also a race to run to win the prize! There are many ups and downs in it. From today onwards, give me the strength to read and also to hear Your encouraging words and be strengthened by them. Help me to grow in Your faith and to receive Your abundant blessings.
In the blessed name of our Lord Jesus, I pray,
Amen. |
