BELIEVE -BE BLESSEDDate: 01-03-2010 Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Now this is the confidence that we have in JESUS CHRIST, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
You have entered this website desiring to put forth all your anxieties in the form of petitions and direct it to the Lord firmly believing that He answers prayers.
The Bible says, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” (1 John 5:14, 15).
My friend we have come with a confidence that if we ask anything according to the will of God it will be granted to us. If we believe that He hears then we will receive whatever we want. Have you this confidence? On this day, if you believe that God listens, receives or hears your prayers then surely you will get answers to your prayers.
Many years ago there lived a Chief Minister in Tamilnadu named C.N. Annadurai. He was the head of the DMK party that was ruling the state at that time. Once while touring the state, he went down south and one day towards evening he addressed a mammoth gathering. As he stood on the platform he happened to see a man wearing a khadi dress holding a paper in his hand standing far away from him under a tree.
Immediately the Chief Minister understood that it was a petition which he wanted to handover to him. Looking at the costume worn by that man anybody could easily decipher that he belonged to the congress party. He was from a different party to which the Chief Minister did not belong. The Chief Minister summoned his assistant and pointing to that particular man from the stage whispered, “Place escort that man to the dais.” Somehow they managed to bring him in front pushing through the crowd. He was a teacher who had retired from service. He had not received the pension due from the government. When he came near the Chief Minister, he gave his petition and pleaded, “Sir! Please do something that I may get the government pension.” Immediately the Chief Minister took the papers from his hand and wrote a note on it, “Before I reach Chennai by train, this man’s pension should be sanctioned by the government.” Isn’t that a great honour? It must be noted that the Chief Minister and the former teacher belonged to different political parties but the Chief Minister signed the order and gave what was due to him. If the supplication of a teacher who had retired from service was granted by a Chief Minister, how much more our heavenly Father can do for each one of us – His children?
Do you believe that your heavenly Father can provide anything that you are desperately in need of? He is able to grant all your petitions therefore cheer up on this wonderful day. The resources of a Chief Minister is restricted to what the government could offer but unlimited are the resources of our heavenly Father and He can grant you anything and everything that you petition to Him. Jesus Christ has the heart and power to grant your supplications.
Just believe that you will receive all that you ask of HIM in His name on this day. Be of good cheer! Jesus Christ will never cast away anyone who comes to HIM. "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.” John 6:37
All that one has to do is to get closer to HIM. You need not go in search of rest anywhere when you could receive it from the hands of our loving Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who offers it freely to all those who ask of HIM (Matthew 11:28).
Jesus Christ took the little children in His arms, placed His hands on their heads and blessed them. Likewise, He is waiting on this day to embrace you and bless you.
Prayer:
Loving heavenly Father,
You are my Provider. Pardon me for having gone in search of rest in various others places without getting to know You and ask You. Forgive my trespasses and grant the supplications that I place before You on this day. You alone can satisfy my wants and lead me to the green pastures that is beside the still waters. Guide and guard me. Please prosper all my efforts and help me to glorify Your name through my life on this earth.
In the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ I pray.
Amen. |
