AUTHORITY TO DRIVE AWAYDate: 27-02-2010

I gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of eighteen. At that time, I was asked to deliver God’s word in a certain place. I had been short and lean earlier but my stature improved after my wife became my best half. Overwhelmed with joy my height increased and I also became stout. The organizers of that meeting took me into a hut for offering prayers. It was dark within. They told, “Three people are sick here, please pray for them.” “Alright! Come let us pray” with these words I stepped inside.
Only after entering I was informed that all three of them were demon possessed. A shiver went down my spine. Before I could offer prayers for them I first offered a prayer for myself. “Lord! I am the only son to my father. He has sent me alone on this mission. Lord! What shall I do if all three of them pounced on me? Lord! Please save me.” I looked around to see if anyone would pray along with me but found all of them staring at me. The only exit door to that hut was also closed and there was no way of escape.
At that moment, the Holy Spirit within me who has destroyed the works of satan increased within me. A spirit of great compassion came upon me for those three persons. I was filled with compassion for them. I did not condemn them as ‘demon possessed’ or ‘sinners’. “Isn’t the devil tormenting these souls terribly? Won’t it be difficult for this family to be gripped by satan?” When thoughts such as these crossed my mind, even without my volition, I prayed for them with a contrite spirit. The power and glory of God descended mightily upon me. Anger arouse within me against those demons tormenting them. I commanded those evil spirits to come out in the name of Jesus Christ who has destroyed the works of satan on the cross of Calvary by allowing Himself to be nail-pierced.
The next moment all three of them fell flat on the floor. After a few minutes they got up only to find themselves perfectly delivered from the clutches of the evil one. Praise the Lord. We are not orphans because we have a hope to cling on to. All three of them walked to the dais and gave their testimony. On that day, my message came forth with great authority. Thus began my service in the ministry.
Dear Friend! Remember, the One who is within you is greater than the one (i.e. satan) who is in the world. Whatever be the diseases, witchcraft or deeds of the darkness, Jesus Christ has nailed everything on the Cross and has won the victory. Just proclaim the name of Jesus Christ and all forms of darkness ought to flee. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit our body becomes His dwelling place. His life descends into us. God desires that the Holy Spirit that was upon Jesus Christ, should also descend into us. Plead for the Holy Spirit to fill you. (Luke 11:13).
Then God will make the Holy Spirit come upon you so that you could feel His presence in you (John 14:20). We experience security and protection. Satan may send his fiery darts targeted to you but God has given you the authority to drive him away. Proclaim the name of Jesus Christ and he will flee. The hope that God’s will alone will be perfected in your life would fill you.
In order to give us this hope, God descends into our midst. He delivers us from the grip of satan and grants us the authority to overcome his plans. He will increase in us and make us like unto Christ. He will strengthen you and fill you with the Holy Spirit so that you will deliver those who are enslaved by satan.
Just as how Jesus Christ drove away the demons while He sojourned on this earth likewise you will also drive away the demons with such authority. You will bring peace to the people in particular and peace to the nation in general. God desires to grant this blessing to all those who believe on His name on this day (Mark 16:17).
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I thank You for coming into this world to destroy the evil works of satan. You have crushed satan through Your death on the Cross at Calvary and has purchased the pardon of my sins through Your resurrection. On this day, give me the authority with which You drove away demons when I call upon Your name. You have promised that signs such as casting out demons; speaking with new tongues; being unhurt by evil things and while laying hands on the sick such people will recover will follow those who believe in Your name. On this day, bless me with Your gift and keep me as a source of blessing to many people. May I be moved with compassion for those people who are in the clutches of the evil one.
