GOD WILL BUILD YOUR HOUSEDate: 21-02-2010
Speaker: Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Obed-Edom kept the ark of the Lord in his house for three months. This is what the Lord expects from us also.
David was dwelling in a house which was built with the cedar. But the ark of the Lord remained inside the tent curtains. Since David wanted to place the ark in a temple, it was his desire to build a temple in that place (2 Samuel 7:2). But the Lord enabled not him but his son to build a big temple for him. The Lord also told David, “You house and your kingdom shall be established forever (2 Samuel 7:16). That is why he had the greatest privilege of Jesus Christ being born in his lineage. Even today when we go to Israel, we can see the House of David there and we can also see the Star of David embedded to the flag of that nation. This is how the Lord has established the name of David generation after generation (2 Samuel 6:11, 12).
As mentioned in the above Scriptures verses, Obed-Edom kept the ark of the Lord in his house for three months. So the Lord blessed him and all that belonged to him. This is what the Lord expects from us also. It is His desire that we should give importance not only to His word but also teach His word to our children. When we build the house for God, these things happen to us also. The Lord builds our house firmly. He shall establish it for ever and ever. He continues to remain as a God who blesses us generation after generation.
When we started to construct the Prayer Tower in the Jesus Calls ministry, my husband conveyed the following to all partners of the Jesus Calls Ministry through our TV programmes. “Build God’s house, He will build you house.”
A certain sister who had been trying for a long time to own a house could not do so. However, when she heard Dr. Paul say, “Build God’s house, He will build your house”, she thought, “Let me also give something to build God’s house and see what happens.” She also started to search for a house with a firm belief that the Lord would build her house. What a wonder! The moment she started searching for a house the blessing of the Lord came upon her. The Lord made her salary to be increased and through that she could get a huge loan from a bank. The Lord provided a four bed room house for her and enabled them to dwell happily in that house. On this day, God can perform mighty miracles in your life as well because nothing is impossible for Him.
Prayer:
Loving heavenly Father,
Heaven is Your throne and earth is Your footstool. I definitely cannot build a place where You can live in. However, I praise and thank You for living in me. Give me the grace to feel Your presence always. Help me have the godly fear and reverence and to seek Your kingdom first. Keep within me a spirit of generous giving that I may receive all goodness from Your loving hands on this day. Prosper all my effort and keep me under Your loving care and protection.
