Gist:  Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household

Abraham taught his descendants righteousness and justice for them to walk in the ways of the Lord (Genesis 18:19) Accordingly Isaac, the son of Abraham built an altar for the Lord and also pitched a tent for him (Genesis 26:25). God told the Israelites, “Teach your children My commandments. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up…Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates” (Deuteronomy 6:7,9). It is God’s desire that we should also teach God’s word and His commandments to our children.

When my children Sam, Sharon and Sweety were 12 years, 10 years and 4 years respectively, I called them to my room one day and began to teach them God’s word. Then my son asked me with reverence, “Mummy how to be filled with the Holy Spirit?” The previous night only he had witnessed a programme regarding the anti-christ. After seeing that a fear gripped him that when the anti-christ comes he may be left out if he is not filled with the Holy Spirit. That is why he eagerly asked me such a question. Then I began to talk to them as to how the Lord blessed me after I received the Holy Spirit.

After that whenever we gathered for family prayer, my children would start asking the Lord, “Oh Lord! Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit.” At this juncture, when we conducted the Institute of Power Ministry at Coimbatore, we prayed for the participants to be filled with the Holy Spirit. At that time my children also knelt down and cried out to God for His anointing. But when all the participants closed their eyes and prayed, my children would sneak into the hall. When the power of the Holy Spirit descended upon everyone, the Lord filled my children too. The Lord has declared, “I will pour water on the thirsty” (Isaiah 44:3). When my children asked the Lord with so much of thirst, the Lord filled them with His Holy Spirit even when Sam and Sharon were just 12 and 10 years old respectively.

Nowadays we go around the world doing His ministry all the time. But the Lord who promised, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you” (Psalm 32:8), has been guiding our children Himself. Whenever we pray as a family, that time becomes a time of great joy for us. When we pray as a family giving importance to God’s word, He comes into our house. Your children shall be taught by the Lord and their peace shall be great.

My dearly beloved, today the Lord shall build your family through you. He shall build your home. He has promised, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household” (Acts 16:31).

Prayer

Almighty God,

I firmly believe that You alone can grant peace and joy in a family. You are the God of a family. I acknowledge that You alone can bless me and the dear ones in my family with Your instructions, teachings, guidance, counsel and watching over us. On this day, let Your choicest blessing descend on us and our descendants like the dew of Hermon.

In Jesus’ precious name I pray.

Amen.
