AN INSIGNIFICANT ACT OF GOODNESSDate: 11-02-2010 Speaker: Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran Gist: I firmly believe that this small act of goodness rendered by my father to a servant of God made way for God to bless His daughter in an immeasurable way.
Once during the initial stages when my father had just accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour, a servant of God came and stayed in our house. It was a time when my father neither knew about the servants of God nor about the ministries they were doing. Even then, when a certain Pastor came to our house to stay, honouring God my father considering him as His ambassador permitted him to stay in a room in the upstairs. The Bible says, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33). My sister and I assisted the pastor in all possible ways to make his stay a comfortable and most memorable one. It was at this time that Bro. D.G.S. Dhinakaran had also made a request to many servants of God to find a tall girl suitable to be a life partner for his son Paul. That servant of God happened to be one among those selected lot to whom he had entrusted this responsibility. Earlier, my husband had expressed his desire to his parents about marrying a girl who is tall. Upon seeing that I was of a tall stature, the pastor immediately informed about me to his parents stating that I may be a suitable life partner for Paul Dhinakaran. His parents happily selected me for their only son.
My father extended a very small help by way of allowing a pastor to stay in our house. I firmly believe that this small act of goodness rendered by my father to a servant of God made way for God to bless His daughter in an immeasurable way. The Bible says, "And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward." (Matthew 10:42). The Lord chose me and united me with the family of the Dhinakarans which ministers to the Lord and has thereby transformed me also as His servant.
Although I lost my parents and brother after the marriage, the Lord built up my life by gifting the parents of my husband as my own parents. He made me happy by giving a wonderful husband and lovely children. Wherever we go in this world, He has given us precious partners to love us as their own mother, father, brothers and sisters. This is how the Lord has built my house. Will He not do that for you? Certainly He will perform mighty and awesome deeds in your life that cannot be fathomed. They definitely will be beyond you understanding and would be amazing to your eyes. On this day open your heart and make known to the Lord, “Oh Lord! Please bless me and build my house.” Then He will surely build your house. He shall also make your children to be taught by the Lord, and great will be their peace (Isaiah 54:13).
Prayer
Loving heavenly Father,
Help me not to grow weary in doing good for those in need particularly to those who are of the household of faith. I acknowledge that when it is in my authority to help someone and if I do not render help to someone in need it would be considered as sin. Please forgive such sins that I may have committed intentionally or unintentionally. On this day, shower Your choicest blessings upon my dear ones and me. Fill me with Your divine peace and joy.
In the wonderful name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Amen. |
