GOD DWELLS IN YOUR HOMEDate: 07-02-2010 Speaker: Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Today our Heavenly Father shall visit your house. He shall supply all your needs.
Many in this world suffer without a shelter. It is the Lord who provides houses for such poor people. Our efforts may go in vain. “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain” (Psalm 127:1). Probably some of you may ponder, “My house is broken. Who shall build it?” Today the Lord assures you, “I will build a house for you” (2 Samuel 7:27). The Lord is with us to help us to build our house.
Once when we visited America, one of the partners of the Jesus Calls Ministry affectionately invited us to their home. Upon hearing our consent, their house received a heavy facelift of cleaning, washing coupled with decorations. The moment we entered their house he told exuberantly, “Normally our house would be in a mess. Your visit has made our house neat and tidy.” Dear Friend, if the sheer visit of an ordinary servant of God could cause such acts of cleansing to take place in a person’s house, how much more concerned we should be to keep the inside of our being clean since it is the dwelling place of our Lord? Today our Heavenly Father shall visit your house. When our loving Lord builds our house, it would be beautiful indeed.
Give room for God to dwell. The Bible says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household” (Acts 16:31). In this verse it is mentioned “you and your household.” Your household means every member of the family. A house is not built just by bricks and stones. So many other materials are also needed to construct a house. Only when we accept the Lord as the Head of our family, He shall build our house.
Recently, a certain family friend of ours invited us as a family to visit his newly built house. We accepted their invitation and stepped into their bungalow. He took us round the house pointing to each room describing the purpose for constructing them. “This is a private room particularly for my father’. After glancing for a while we walked further. Then he gladly informed showing the next room, “Well this is my room and over there it is for my children.” Finally he showed us a spacious room and told, “It is in this room built first that our Lord Jesus Christ dwells.” He asked us to bless his house. What a wonder! When we prayed the presence of God descended in that room in an abundant measure. Today this family has been blessed richly. God has blessed the education of the children. The head of that family is placed in a very responsible position in the government. They have been blessed in their family life as well as spiritual life. Today they are living in a spacious house enjoying the blessings granted by God.
In the same way let us also give first place to the Lord Jesus in our house and lovingly invite Him saying, “Oh Lord, please come and dwell in our house.” Then He shall come. When we give first place to the Lord, He shall dwell in our house and build our house. He shall supply all our needs. He shall also add more and more blessings.
Prayer
Our heavenly Father!
You wish to dwell in me and fulfill the desires of my heart. You are eager to call me Your child. Therefore, enable me to call You, “Abba Father” always. I request You to come into my heart and make it your dwelling place. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, the victory and the majesty; for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, We thank You And praise Your glorious name. But who am I, to come before Your throne of grace? For all things come from You. Bless me this day and make me glad.
In the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen |
