Jesus Who Meets Your Needs

- Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran

Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.
(John 21:6)

The Holy Scripture clearly says that Lord Jesus Christ is the remover of our needs.

If we read Luke 5:4,5 we find that, when Lord Jesus sojourned in this world. One day, He went to the shore and got into Simon Peter's boat and preached the good news to the people. Though Simon Peter toiled all night, he caught nothing. So, he was totally broken hearted. According to the promise, "Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7), compassionate Lord Jesus knew the broken heart of Peter. After He stopped preaching, He looked at Peter and said, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." Peter obeyed His words and let down the net and caught a great number of fish.

When we read the 21st chapter of the gospel of John, we see how Simon Peter goes back to his livelihood of fishing after the death of Lord Jesus Christ. Though he toiled all night, he could not catch even a single fish. In John 21:6, we read what the resurrected Lord Jesus, who said, "I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you again" did in the lives of His disciples clearly.

"Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some. So they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish." (John 21:6)

Jesus who performed a miracle for the broken hearted Peter during the days of His ministry, also helped him and proved His greatness even after His resurrection.

I completed my graduation in 1955. I searched for a job, but I could not find one. Everyday, I used to shed tears saying, "Lord, will I not get a good job?" One day, when I returned home, I saw a text on the wall hung by my mother.

"God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19)

When I read this verse, a new life, a new hope and enthusiasm shone in my heart. Within a few days, I got a job in a bank. In spite of getting a job, I found no end to my poverty and debt. Days passed by! On July 20, 1967, I became very sick. At that time, four of my friends came home and prayed along with me. The Holy Spirit descended on me and I was taken up to heaven in spirit. I saw Lord Jesus. He looked at me and asked, "Will you come for full time ministry?" I thought, "I am suffering from severe illness, without any concern for it, He is calling me to serve Him." In my anger I said, "No" to God. He asked me the reason for it. I replied, "Lord, many of Your servants do not have proper clothing and food. First, remove their insufficiency. At present, I have a good job in the bank and three square meal. So, I cannot come." Then He wrote the following words beautifully on a scroll, "From today onwards, I will meet all the needs of My son, Dhinakaran. Wherever he goes, I will go with him. When he stands up and preach, I will also stand up and I will perform mighty miracles." Beneath that, I too wrote, "I accept these promises and I am willing to serve the Lord" and signed. Even God signed that agreement. From that day onwards, my life was totally transformed. He met all my needs at His appointed time. Hence the debt problem vanished.

Dear friend, cast all your care upon God, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Many times, we think that God heals only the physical ailments and saves the people. But, what does the Scripture says? He turns our deficiency into sufficiency and longs to meet all our needs. He says, "I will die, but I will be with you to perform miracles." We should never forget this truth, Jesus Christ is a miracle worker. He will remove your poverty permanently and make you blessed. Is this Jesus with you? If not, implore Him in tears, "Lord, You have promised, 'I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you.' Hence, come into my heart today. Come home and dwell with me." He will certainly come into your heart and wipe away your all tears. He will dwell with you permanently. He will never leave you comfortless.

Prayer:

Gracious Lord Jesus,

You are Jehovah , my provider and my comforter. Lord, You promised that You will not leave me comfortless and I will come to you. I implore You to come my heart and dwell with me forever. You know the longing and desires of my heart. Fulfill my longings and desires at Your appointed time. Turn all my tears into joy. I give You all the glory, honour and praise.

Amen.
