Beloved! God says, “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you” (Isaiah 66:13). Are you feeling in your heart that there is none to care for you? Do not worry! Jesus is there, and He will comfort you because you are His precious child.
In the year 1977, my dear mother was bedridden due to a terrible sickness. I was dear to my mother because I was the only child. On one fine morning, a nurse from the hospital rushed to my house and woke me up from sleep. It was around 3 am. She said, “Brother, all these days, your mom managed to survive. But now, she is almost dying! It looks like she will leave the earth, leaving us all behind! So please hurry up. Stand beside her when she breathes her last.” On hearing that, I rushed to the hospital. Crying and weeping I screamed in her ears, several times, “Mom, Mom, Mom.” That is all! My mom who had been unconscious for several days opened her eyes! She looked at me and said, “Son, did you have your meal?” and finally breathed her last.
Yes! Even in the final moment of her life, she wanted to care for me. This is the heart of a mother.
Similarly, when Jesus was hung on the cross, He looked at His mother, and the disciple whom He loved, standing by, and said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” He pointed to her John, the beloved disciple who dearly loved Him and leaned on His bosom in the gatherings (John 13:23,25). Then, He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour, that disciple took her to his own home (John 19:26,27).
It is clearly understood that Jesus knew the heart of John, who dearly loved Jesus. He said, ‘John, I know how big is your love for Me. So I will not leave you alone on this earth. Here I am giving my mother to you John, from this day on, she will be your comfort.’
Friend! This is the heart of Jesus. He knows in detail every struggle, pain, and agony you are going through. He knows the longings of your heart. Do not worry! He is near you, to comfort and care, like a mother. He will open doors for you and bless you. Just give way for Jesus to come into Your life and receive Him in your heart. Then, God’s joy, happiness, and peace will fill your heart. Surely, He will do miracles for you! Trust in Him!
I thank You for Your loving grace and mercy over my life. Master, let Your name be glorified in my life. Please, oh Lord! Pour out Your divine love upon me so that I will be satisfied with Your love all through my life. Let Your Spirit comfort me as I walk through the path of difficulty and sorrow. I offer this prayer with thanksgiving. In Jesus’ holy name I pray,
