Beloved! God will exalt you to the extent of keeping you as a blessing to many people. Receive your blessings today and be a blessing!
In the book of Genesis, we read about the life of Jacob. When God blessed Jacob richly, he returns to his home with his wife and children. But he was terrified and scared about his life. Because, he had deceived his brother, Esau, by taking away his birthright. Not only that, very cleverly he made his father give him all the blessings that belonged to his elder brother Esau and nothing was left for him. This made Esau furious and he was determined to kill his brother. He said to himself, “The days of mourning for my father are near; then I will kill my brother Jacob” (Genesis 27:41). So Jacob was filled with fear as he was on his way to home. At that junction, he hears, that His brother was coming against him with 400 men (Genesis 32:6-7). Fear gripped his heart. He left his family and went aside, to spend time with the Lord. Hosea 12:4 says, He wept and begged for God’s favor. He set apart a time with the Lord. He would have even neglected his food and said, 'The Lord alone is enough for me.' He reminded God the promise He had made to his forefathers, 'I will surely make you prosper and will make your descendants like the sand of the sea, which cannot be counted.' He cried and prayed for God to fulfill it (Genesis 33:3-4)
God in hearing Jacob’s cry, came down from His throne to bless him. God said, I will change your name Jacob, you will no longer be called as 'the deceiver'. From now on your name will be called ‘Israel’ because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome. (Genesis 32:28). You will be called God’s prince. Yes! Psalm 91:14 says “Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.”
After this encounter with God, Jacob’s life was transformed. The Lord also changed his brother, Esau's heart, who was waiting to kill him. He said to Jacob, ‘I will take care of you, Jacob, my brother.’
Beloved, are you disturbed and worried by the situations around you? Jesus said, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
