My dear beloved, there was a man named Zacchaeus in the Bible. He was the chief tax collector in the region, and he had become very rich. He tried to get a look at Jesus, but he was too short to see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree beside the road, for Jesus was going to pass that way. When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, “I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!” Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today." His joy knew no bounds. He received the salvation on that day (Luke 19:1-10).
Several years back, we conducted a Prayer Meet in Bethesda, Coimbatore. On the last day of the meet, a couple came to my son Paul and said, “Brother, we have only one son who has become violent in these days. He tortures us and asks for money. If we refuse, he shows us the knife. Everyday, we fear for our lives. He did not know that we came here. As he has gone somewhere , we have locked the house and came here running to attend this prayer. We felt like we are in heaven during the prayer but we do not know what will happen when we go home. Hearing this, my son Paul prayed for their son with tears. The couple returned home and saw their son sitting outside the house. The couples said to each other that it would be the last day for them. But when their son saw them, he ran towards them, hugged and embraced them. He wept saying, “Where did you go leaving me. I was suffering alone” Both were shocked. Immediately his mother took him into the house and prepared a nice meal for him. The son delightfully had the meal and said to his father that he wanted to join the school and study hard. What a transformation! The Lord has heard the prayers offered far away and transformed the son completely. Their joy knew no bounds. Salvation came to that house on that day.
Beloved, the Lord will do the same thing in your life. 1 Corinthians 8:3 says, “The person who loves God is the one whom God recognizes” Only God knows the human heart. Yes, He knows what you are going through right now. He sees your tears and heartaches. He is eagerly waiting to wipe away your tears and fill you with His peace. Invite Jesus into your house. He will come and fill your family with His love and joy. He will take away your diseases, your pain, your weaknesses and bring salvation to your home. Yes, He desires the happiness of His children. He will never let you forsaken. Never be worried but take heart. The Lord Jesus will wipe away your tears and meet all your needs.
Loving Heavenly Father,
I pray that You may pour Your divine peace in my family. Lord, I believe that You dwell in the high and holy place, with them who have a contrite and humble spirit. I come to Your presence with all humility that You may dwell with us and be the Head of our family. Save everyone in my family. Let Your light shine in their hearts, Lord. Bless us with all abundance and joy. Be with us and guide us in all that we do. May Your name be glorified in our family, now and forever.
