HOLY REDEMPTIONStella Dhinakaran

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!    (2 Corinthians 5:17)

The Dhinakarans Dearly beloved, Lord Jesus Christ is our Holy Redeemer.

The Bible says, “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed” (Isaiah 53:5,10).

He became our trespass offering to redeem us. He once said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). Look at His love so amazing! His sole desire is to redeem us and grant us blessed new lives!

One day, Lord Jesus who passed through a city in Samaria met the Samaritan woman. She was living in sin. After conversing with her for some time, He turned her mind towards the Kingdom of God. What happened in the next few minutes? Through her, many in that city came to believe Lord Jesus Christ and testified, “This man really is the Savior of the world" (John 4:42).

See how great is the love of God which could transform a woman who lived in sin to a witness for Lord Jesus!

A certain mother arranged lessons in dancing for her daughter through whose performances she earned a lot of money. She was a mother without the least care for the soul of her daughter. One day, while returning from a dance performance, the young woman happened to encounter an elderly sister who was a devoted servant of God. She told her that if she desired, Lord Jesus could grant to her a spotless and blessed life.

Moved to tears, she confessed: “I do want the blessed life you speak of.” The servant of God then invited her to pray with her saying: “Come, sister! Let us look up to Lord Jesus. He will open a new chapter in your life. He will forgive you and give you a blessed new life.”

The Lord transformed the young sister into a new person, a child of God. The strength He provided made her boldly stand up to her mother. In a miraculous manner, He gave her a good job. What is more, her mother was also transformed.

The Bible says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Let us fall at the feet of Lord Jesus and rejoice on receiving from Him new lives altogether. We will then be assured of perpetual joy in His presence where we could rest free from all sorrow and suffering.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

You are the Saviour of the world. You offered yourself as a sacrifice on the cross to redeem us. I look up to You for my salvation. Redeem me by your precious blood. Transform me into a new person and grant me a blessed new life. Save my soul and give me the blessing of eternal life.

In Your matchless name I pray.

Amen.
