POWERFUL PRAYER

While Jacob worked for his uncle- Laban, he had untold problems with him and also fear concerning his brother - Esau. Gripped with anxiety he could not progress forward in his life. Without making known of his predicament to anyone, He alone travailed with God. It was then that out of his mouth shot forth a most powerful prayer.
And He (God) said, "Let Me go, for the day breaks." But he (Jacob) said, "I will not let You go unless You bless me!" Genesis 32:26
As he struggled with God, he was given a new name by God as ‘Israel’. He was no more called ‘Jacob’ meaning ‘deceiver’. God loved ‘Israelites’, His people, the descendants of Israel. Even to this day, he remains as a source of blessing to many people.
When confronted with problems from all directions, let us not disclose it to our dear ones but take it to the Lord in prayer. Go directly into the presence of the Lord and say, “Lord! Unless You bless me, I will not let You go.”
Dear Friend! Our dear father Bro. D.G.S. Dhinakaran also offered a prayer to this effect. He longed to receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Even while working for a bank, everyday without fail, he would cry out to God. “Lord! When will You fill me with the Holy Spirit? I need You!.” He never prayed for just one day but for seven years everyday. Even in the market place also he used to offer this prayer. Just before going to office, he would pray. After seven years the Lord did fill him with the Holy Spirit. Besides this, Jesus Christ gave him the privilege of speaking to Him face to face. He rejoiced in the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Dear Friend! On this day ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart and fill you with His Holy Spirit. Since Jesus Christ has promised to do everything that we ask in His name, we shall not leave Him until He grants us this blessing. His promises to us are ‘Yes’ and ‘Amen’ in Jesus Christ.
Prayer:
Loving heavenly Father!
Give me the grace to depend on You and to trust Your promises in all matters concerning my life. Give me the heart that is grateful for all Your blessings already received. Teach me to pray with thanksgiving. From today onwards, help me to lead a godly and faithful life.
In Jesus’ precious name I pray.
