STRIKING SIGN

Oh, turn to me, and have mercy on me! Give Your strength to Your servant, And save the son of Your maidservant. Show me a sign for good, That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, Because You, LORD, have helped me and comforted me. Psalm 86:16, 17
The enemies – Philistines, surrounded the Israelites. King Saul and his soldiers are perplexed not knowing their next course of action. They do not have enough men and even those soldiers with them were weary in their mind, body, heart and soul. In a situation such as this, Jonathan accompanied by his armour bearer entered the enemy camp. “….for he (Jonathan) has worked with God this day." (1 Samuel 14:45). Jonathan knew this. “God is powerful to grant victory through two or two hundred thousand people.” Therefore, he made a move in faith towards the enemy camp and God pronounced “Amen” to Jonathan’s thought saying, “My child! You are not alone. I am with you.” Jonathan made such a risky move with God’s help. God abided with him.
Isn’t it a joy to have God in everything that we do? Definitely God is with us. Dear Friend! If only we can experience this in our life, then everything that we set our hands upon will shout ‘victory’. If one considers oneself as ‘shouldering the responsibilities of the world’ and says, “I’ll have to carry out this work all alone. I’ll have to take care of the affairs at home single-handedly”, then God would bluntly say, “Alright child! You take care of these matters on your own” and would bid good-bye.
On the contrary let us say, “Lord! I am alone but please abide with me. You, who are greater than anything, please come along with me.” Never sleep saying, “God is there. He will take care” because God expects you to execute the essential tasks. If you say, “God will take care. Everything will come in search of me” and were to sit down you will remain static there. You ought to perform your duties. When you do all that you are supposed to do then God will help you. When God stands to help you surely your enemies will be put to shame. Everything that you do will be blessed by God. There will be no need for us to go and fight with our enemies. When we are sincere in executing the work granted to us by God, He will surely bless us. He is going to answers your prayers and thereby grant you a striking sign that He is going to put your enemies to shame. On this day God will grant a sign to you as well as your enemies to manifest His power. Thank God for the favourable sign that He is going to give you on this day for you and your family.
A sister named Parimalam from Bethaniyapuram in Madurai wrote her testimony to us.
“I wrote a letter requesting prayers for God to bless me with the gift of a child. You also sent a consoling reply stating that God would bless me. One day, while watching the Jesus Calls Television programme I had a longing in my heart. “Will not God call me by my name and comfort me?” Something weighed my spirit down but when I heard you praying for those women who are barren to be blessed with the gift of a child I rejoiced in my spirit. At that time, the power of the Almighty God descended on me. You rebuked the powers of darkness that caused physical weariness and weakness. Immediately I felt as if something rolled out of my stomach twice. I firmly believe that God has driven away some evil spirit from me. Above all, during the Prayer Time, you called out my name and told, ‘Sis. Parimalam! The life of Christ descends into you.’ My joy knew no bounds. I experienced the power of God falling upon me without measure. After you offered prayers, I conceived and gave birth to a cute child.”
God can show you a sign in many ways. It need not always be by calling out your name. It could be by transforming your spouse, directly healing you or through other ways. That which matters most is, we should have an unshakeable faith that our Almighty God will never forsake us.
Prayer:
Almighty God!
You alone know the predicament that I am faced with at this moment. I request You to abide with me always and show me a sign by which You reveal unto me that I will see my enemies being put to shame by Your power. I firmly believe that You alone can prosper me.
In Jesus’ precious name I pray.
