FINE, FRUITFUL
- Sis. Stella Dhinakaran
I (God) will multiply the fruit of your trees and increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach of famine among the nations (Ezekiel 36:30). This is a wonderful and a confidence building promise. When we abide in Him, the Lord will make us bear much fruits (John 15:4, 5). Only when we experience this life of abiding in Christ, we know how precious it is! Also, God is ever ready to give this precious experience to all those who seek Him faithfully. God promised to take the Israelites to Canaan, the land of milk and honey (Exodus 3:8), and He fulfilled it as He said (Deuteronomy 8:7-9). The same God will also fulfill this promise in your life and make you prosperous.
Once, there lived a poor farmer in a certain village. He was a god-fearing and devout man who had a small piece of land. Daily, he read the Bible and prayed before going to his field to begin his work. One year, it rained less and it affected the crops. This poor farmer fasted and prayed daily for rains. He humbled himself before God and prayed fervently believing firmly that the God who promised is faithful and would surely bless him. He praised and thanked God with all his heart. While others were making fun of him, God heard his prayers and sent down rains and increased his harvest a hundredfold.
My dear friend, you too may be lacking the good things of life and suffering from worries and burdens. But, do not worry! Like the poor farmer, look at God with faith and He will surely give you the goodness you need in your life (1 Corinthians 3:7). You hold fast to Him and you shall not lack any good thing in your life (Psalm 34:10). Experience and see, “Oh! How great is Your goodness which You have laid up for those who fear You; which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men! (Psalm 31:19).
Prayer:
Precious heavenly Father!
I trust that You alone can change my shortcomings and bless me with a fruitful life. Today, bless me abundantly and multiply the works of my hand. In the blessed name of our Lord Jesus I pray.
Amen.
