Beloved, the Lord delights in the praises of a grateful heart. Many times we fail to thank and praise Him for His goodness and mercy in our lives. We grumble about our insufficiencies and magnify them rather than praising God for His goodness.
The Bible urges us to thank and praise the Lord saying, “You shall rejoice in all to which you have put your hand, you and your households, in which the Lord your God has blessed you” (Deuteronomy 12:7).
Yes, let us praise Him for His goodness and recount His goodness and praise Him. Then we shall see the power, love and glory of God. The Bible says, “Whoever offers praise glorifies Me” (Psalm 50:23). Beloved, let us learn to recount His goodness and thank and praise Him for them.
An ordinary person in the midst of all his difficulties used to praise and thank God for His blessings in his life. He offered the sacrifice of praise continually, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name (Hebrews 13:15). Due to his praising God, he became the ridicule of people who did not know about Him. But he did not heed their mocking but continued to praise the Lord.
Every time he praised, divine peace and joy filled his heart. So, he had no time to worry about the opinions of others. Even this godly man faced troubles and problems in his life. But, because he praised and thanked the Lord, God enabled him to overcome the troubles in life. His victorious and progressing life made others wonder and they were drawn to Christ.
Beloved, praising God brings down the presence of God and His blessings in our lives. Instead of murmuring, grumbling and finding lame excuses for your ills and insufficiencies start praising and thanking the Lord for His blessings. Then He will bless you more and more (Colossians 3:15).
Loving Heavenly Father,
I thank and praise You for all Your goodness and mercy in my life. Father, many times I have murmured against You instead of praising You. Forgive me. Help me to praise You always like the person in the above incident. Let my life abound with Your goodness and loving–kindness. In Jesus’ name I pray.
