New MercySis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran

They (Lord’s mercies) are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.    (Lamentations 3:23)

The Dhinakarans Dear Friend! The Lord clothes us with His mercies that are new every morning. The Bible says, “They (Lord’s mercies) are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23).

The Lord speaks to us through His Word, the Bible. It is His desire to fill our lives with mercies that are new every morning and we shall overcome the trials and temptations of the day.

Before my marriage, I would read the Bible just for the sake of reading and keep it down. I did not know how to holdfast to the promises of the Lord. But after my marriage to Bro. Paul Dhinakaran, I saw him getting up early in the morning and keeping the Bible on his lap and reading it. He would lay his hands on the Bible and pray, “Lord! Speak to me today through Your verses. Help me this day to face all my duties and responsibilities with courage and claim victory in all that I do.” After praying so, he would read the Bible. My father Bro. Dhinakaran and my mother Sis. Stella Dhinakaran would also read the Bible like that. I also started doing the same thing. I also began to read the Bible diligently. I started claiming the promises of the Bible fervently in faith. It was after this change that the Lord gave me new grace, mercy and blessings. Today, He is using me mightily in the ministry.

Many youngsters I meet say, “Sister! I do not know how to read the Bible. Even when I read, I am unable to understand anything.” Those of you who are struggling like this, please do not lose hope. Before reading the Bible, pray to God saying, “Lord! Speak to me through Your verses now” and then start reading the Bible. Then, the Lord will help you to understand the true meaning of His verses. And, He will give you new mercy and new grace for that day and bless you abundantly!

Dear Friend! The Bible says, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit” (Titus 3:5).

Yes! Our loving Lord saves us because of His mercy and not because we are good or of our good works. He is the God of mercy and His mercy never fails! The Bible says the Lord is merciful to those who fear Him just like a father who pities his children. Let us ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit Who enables us to live a holy life and walk in the fear of the Lord. When the Holy Spirit descends, all our shortcomings will be done away. The Lord will give us His new mercy and bless us abundantly.

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

I thank You for Your mercy that sustains me in this evil world. Fill me with the Holy Spirit and open my eyes to Your truth when I read the Bible. Teach me to be a doer of the Word. Bless me as You have blessed Your servants in their lives. Use me to dispel the darkness of this world and let Your name be glorified through my life. I give You all glory, honour and praise.

Amen.
