THE PLEASURE

The father knew that there is no use in telling him how he was foolish and wrong. The headstrong, selfish boy must learn that lesson in another way. So he divided all his money, and gave the younger son his share.


There was nothing now to keep the boy at home. His home and his father meant nothing to him compared to pleasure and adventure he wanted to enjoy. So he carried the money with him and set off on a long journey to a far-away country.


At first everything was as delightful to his sight. He had nothing to do from morning until night but to plan how he could enjoy himself to the best. His friends who gathered round him were ready to butter up him and help him to spend his money. The flowery path of pleasure was very pleasant to tread.
