PETER HEALS THE LAME MAN

As promised by Jesus, after His ascension to Heaven, the Holy Spirit came upon His disciples and they started performing miracles just as Jesus did on this earth.

One day, as two of His disciples Peter and John were going up to the temple, at the time of prayer - at three in the afternoon, they saw a man lame from birth being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful.

He was made to sit everyday there near the gate, to beg from those going into the temple courts. When the lame man saw Peter and John about to enter, he as usual asked them for alms. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, "Look at us!" So, the man intently looked at them, expecting to get something from them.

Then Peter said, "Silver or Gold (that is money) I do not have; but what I have, I give you, In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!"

Then, taking him by the right hand, he helped him to get up, and immediately the man's feet and ankles that were once very week, became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.

When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called 'Beautiful' and all of them were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. This showed that when we receive the power of the Holy Spirit that is the Spirit of Jesus, we totally become changed people just like Peter, who once denied Jesus three times, and John. And great miracles will take place through the Holy spirit working in us. So Jesus expects you and me to receive His power.
