JOHN BAPTIZES JESUS |
|
|
John
was born to God-fearing parents Zechariah and Elizabeth. Once the angel
of the Lord appeared to Zechariah and told him that his wife shall give
birth to a child and name him as John. The angel also told Zechariah that
the child shall be great in the sight of the Lord and filled by the Holy
Spirit. After many years, when John grew up, he began to preach all the people about the God’s Son 'Messiah'. He preached to the people to repent for their sins and get forgiveness from God. Those who listened to John and confessed their sins were baptized in the river Jordan. |

One day, Jesus came to the river Jordan to be baptized by John. But John hesitated. He said to Jesus “I need to be baptized by you”. But Jesus insisted John to baptize him because God wanted him to do this. So John baptized Jesus. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the river. At that moment, heaven was opened and he saw God’s Spirit coming down in the form of a dove and landed on Jesus. And God spoke with the voice of thunder and said, “This is my beloved Son. I am very pleased with him”. Now, it's quiz time. Are you ready? |
