JESUS GROWS UP

 
Jesus grew and was a loving and obedient boy to his parents. He helped his father in his work and was a loving child to his mother.

Now it was the time to celebrate the Passover (a Jewish festival commemorative of the exodus from Egypt). Joseph and Mary went to Jerusalem to participate in it. Jesus as a twelve-year-old boy also went along with them.

After the celebration, they started walking back to their home in Nazareth, along with many of their friends and relatives. Joseph and Mary noticed that Jesus wasn't with them, but they thought he was walking with some of their relatives, so they did not worry. But after a while they realized Jesus wasn't there at all, they were worried.

 
They hurried back to Jerusalem. They found Jesus in the Temple talking with the great teachers there, listening to them and asking them questions. The teachers were very surprised at how much Jesus Knew about the Word of God.

"Why have you worried us this way?" Mary and Joseph asked Jesus.

Jesus was surprised. "Didn't you know I would be here at my Father's house?" he said. Then Jesus went back with them to Nazareth.

There he grew strong and wise.
