Part-21 My help comes from Above

NASH: Nimi, come.  We shall visit Thomas to-day.  It is a long time since we met him.

NIMI: He will be busily preparing for his Government exams.  We should return very soon.

NASH: Hei, Thomas! You hold the book in your hands, but you look elsewhere!

THOMAS: Nahs, Nimi…! Welcome! Welcome! I am watching the boys playing cricket in the ground opposite.

NIMI: Perhaps you come to this room only to see that!

THOMAS: You are correct.  I tell my parents that I am going to study and come here.  They too will not trouble me.

NIMI: Only when your marks are known there'll be trouble.

THOMAS: Don't frighten me, Nimi.

NASH: There was a small girl, Sheba.  Her parents were holding responsible jobs.  So they didn't have much time to spend with her

NIMI: Still she excelled in her studies

NIMI: It was Parents Day in her school.  She very much wanted her mother to participate in it and pleaded with her.  Her mother also consented

NIMI: They had a strange game for the parents.  The children would wear masks and come in disguise.  The parents should find out their children by their eyes.  All the children came to the stage.  The parents were in the auditorium.

NASH: Shobana was constantly looking at her mother

THOMAS: And I suppose the mother wasn't able to recognize her daughter!

NIMI: No! It wasn't so.  She was the first to find out her daughter.

THOMAS: How was it possible!

NASH: All the children diverted their attention to the decorations in the auditorium and were looking here and there playfully. But, Shobana alone was steadily looking at her mother; and so the mother found it so easy to spot her out.

NASH: Her attention was not distracted and so she won.  If your attention is fully set on studies and God, your efforts will be crowned with success.

THOMAS: What you both say is correct.  Hereafter, I will concentrate my attention on studies.  I'll seek the Lord's help and get His blessings in all my efforts.

You will keep him in perfect peace.  Whose mind is stayed on you.  (Isaiah 26:3)

NASH: Now let us go.  We too should prepare for our exam.
