In the year 2008, during the 4th year of the tenure of the UPA Government, it faced
a serious problem in the form of the vote of confidence which was brought against
it by the Opposition parties in the parliament. In this crisis situation, all the
leaders of the church under the leadership of Paul Dhinakaran gathered together
to pray for the Government to overcome this predicament that it was facing. The
Almighty Lord spoke to His servant Paul Dhinakaran who then wrote a letter on
the 10th of July 2008 to the Chairperson of the Indian National Congress, Mrs. Sonia
Gandhi.
In this letter Paul Dhinakaran said, “With regard to the present crisis, I have
spent quite some time in prayer for you and the Government, as we did in the month
of April 2004 prior to the national elections when we prayed nonstop for 72 hours
in 14 major cities of India for the then forthcoming parliamentary elections which
made the Almighty God to bring your party to power.
Further, he said, “As I prayed for your good self this time, the Holy Spirit revealed
to me that you will be surprised to see your government securing more than the required
votes in Parliament. This trend is not only for the present but will also be reflected
during the forthcoming elections.”
At that time the party was anticipating to secure the votes just needed to prove
their majority during the vote of confidence. The survey showed that 267 votes would
be for the government, 269 would be against the government and abstentions would
be 3. But the government was surprised when 275 votes were in favour of the government
while 256 were against the government. The government had thus won by a margin of
19 votes.
That was the prophecy Paul Dhinakaran gave to the Congress Chairperson, Mrs.
Sonia Gandhi on July 10, 2008 and which was subsequently fulfilled. Apart from this,
the Paul Dhinakaran went on to say that , “The Lord would strengthen the hands
of Shri. Rahul Gandhi to enable him to lead 540 million young people of our nation
in this new era, which has started this year.”
Yes, according to Amos 3:7, the Lord will never do anything without first revealing
His plans to His servants, the Prophets.
