Seek The LordSpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: We may have everything in our lives but still have a void which can be only filled by God. Beloved! In this world we can get power, riches and fame and everything we desire but still have a burning void in our lives. That void can only be filled by God because our souls have by created by God for Him.
“You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13).
The Psalmist David who thirst for God, says, “O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You: my flesh longs for You; in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water” (Psalm 63:1).
Many years ago I had been to the U.S.A. where I was staying with an Indian family. One evening as I was expounding the scriptures to them, I heard a scream from upstairs! When I asked my friend about it, he took me upstairs to the bedroom of his nine year old son. He was sleeping with his eyes closed and clasped hands was saying, “I want my Daddy” The father went near him, patted him softly and whispered, “I am here sonnie!” The boy opened his eyes for a while and went back to sleep.
My friend explained that when he came to the U.S.A. his little son who was one and half years old then missed him very much. This affected him psychologically and would scream for me in his sleep. Years later, when my family came to live with me, my son first asked me, “Daddy! Will you me leave alone again?” I comforted him and said that I would be with him always. But he was not healed psychologically of that condition. I interceded with the Lord for the little boy with tears. The Lord delivered him in a wonderful way and his screaming ended that day!
We yearn for God Who is our Heavenly Father, trying to seek Him in various ways with our human wisdom and understanding. But the Bible clearly says, “I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me” (Proverbs 8:17). God, our Heavenly Father is waiting to fill the void in our lives and make us happy. He waiting to reveal Himself to us. So let us run to Him today.
Prayer:
Loving heavenly Father,
I come to You as You alone can fill the void in my life. Yes, Father, nothing in this world can give me true peace and joy. Help me to seek You early and diligently. Strengthen me to seek You more in prayer. Let Your peace and joy flow without measure in my life. In Jesus' name I pray.
