Eternal LifeSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: The Lord has prepared a place for us in Heaven. Dear friend, our life does not end here on earth but shall continue to eternity. What we do on earth determines where we will spend our eternity. The Bible says, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).
Let us do good on earth to spend eternity in heaven.
Some years ago, I happened to hear a pastor share an incident to my father that he faced in his life. A member of his church who loved Lord Jesus very much, suddenly died. None was able to console his wife. The pastor would go to her house and console her. But nothing could comfort or console her and this grieved the pastor. One day, he prayed pleading, “Lord, you please try to comfort her.” Days passed by. One day, as she was doing her household chores, suddenly the Lord’s presence filled the house. She was amazed! She who had been in tears till then, and who could not be comforted by anybody, was filled with joy.
Two angels appeared and she was astounded by another person between them. It was her husband! He said, “Violet! Do not weep and lament over my death but keep praising the Lord! Then he disappeared in a moment. Then she realised that her husband was resting on the bosom of Lord Jesus in heaven. She told herself that she too would go to heaven where there would be no tears, sorrow or pain. There shall be only joy!
"In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2).
Yes, the Lord has prepared a place for us in Heaven. Let us pursue to do things that please the Father so that we can inherit the eternal place prepared for us.
Dear friend, let not your hearts be worried! When the Lord dwells in a person, He will make him/ her happy not only in this world but also in the kingdom to come. On the day of the Judgment, He will honour us by saying, “This is my beloved cleansed by My blood.” He will make us spend eternity with Him.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
Help me to live a holy and pure life before You in this evil world. Let my life be pleasing to You. Cleanse me with Your precious blood. Help me to set my mind on things of the above and not of the earth. I praise and thank You that I will spend my eternity with You. I give You all glory, honour and praise.
