THE LORD WHO EXALTS US

Gist: The Lord will lift you up and exalt you!

Beloved! I greet you in the mighty and matchless name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Today, The Lord will lift you up from your lowliness and exalt you. Yes! He has seen your suffering all these years and is going to reward your patience and honour you with blessings. In the Bible we read about Mary, a young virgin who was chosen by God through whom Jesus Christ would be born into this world. One day, the angel of God appeared to her and said, "Rejoice, highly favoured one! The Lord is with you; blessed are you among the women." (Luke 1:28).

Mary said, “For He has regarded the lowly state of His maid servant. For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. He has put down the mighty from their thrones and exalted the lowly” (Luke 1:48, 52).

Mary would have experienced great agony when the wicked people crucified Jesus on the cross. Mary was a blessed woman because she had the privilege to bear the son of God as her own babe. That was why she said, “He has regarded my lowly state and has exalted me.”

Once, a young woman had to go to a far off place leaving her parents behind. Her mother was in dismay as she used to dote on her very much. She asked her daughter, “How are you going to manage on your own?” The daughter began to realize her helpless state and began to worry. She left her parents and reached her destination. She was all alone. She began to grieve in solitude. “I am imperfect. I am not efficient. How can I manage without my mother?” She was in great anxiety when Lord Jesus appeared in her room. The divine love of Jesus drew her to the Lord. She rejoiced greatly in the fellowship of Jesus. As days went by her life began to blossom beautifully. She was exalted and transformed as a blessed woman who became as a channel of blessings to others.

Beloved! The Lord will exalt you even as He blessed Mary and exalted her. When Lord Jesus lived on this earth, He manifested Himself in human flesh. Jesus was the person of God. He humbled Himself even to the humiliating death on the cross (Colossians 1:15), (Hebrews 1:3), (Philippians 2:8). Do not be worried about the humiliations, hardships, which you go through. Do not be worried by your loneliness. The Lord will raise you up from your emptiness and exalt you. Your people, friends may despise you, may ridicule you for your faith in Jesus Christ, but remember Jesus is watching and will not keep silent anymore. He will reward you openly and honour you. He will make the people who despised and ridiculed you to come to you seeking your favour, the counsel of God through you.

The Father who exalted and honoured Jesus Christ will also exalt and bless you. Cling to Him. Do not worry! Be of good cheer!

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

I thank You for Your Word. Father, give me the grace to stay strong in doing Your Will. You know my sufferings I had to bear for You. Lord, even as I am praying now, exalt me and honour me. Use me mightily for Your glory. In Jesus name I pray.

Amen.
