THIRST FOR A HOLY LIFESpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: When you confess your sins and forsake them, you will have mercy. Beloved! I greet you in the loving and sweet name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Today, God’s grace shall come upon you and help you live a holy life. For that you have to confess your sins and forsake them. Do not hide your sins from God but ask for His forgiveness.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (I John 1:9).
You should humble yourself before God and confess your sins. Do not be puffed up in arrogance when you know you have sinned. Repent of your sins immediately.
Jesus met a woman at a well in Samaria who was a prostitute. When He spoke of Himself, as the Living Water, the woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw" (John 4:15). She could not understand that Jesus was talking about Himself but was only keen to have that Water so that she would not thirst again. Jesus did not show hatred to her nor did He look down upon her, nor condemn her. He wanted her to realize her sinful state and wanted her to accept Him as the Lord by which the woman would have eternal life.
He spoke to her in a kind way, and in order to test her, He asked her to bring her husband. She replied that she did not have a husband. Jesus said to her, "You have well said, 'I have no husband,’ for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly." (John 4:16-18). His words convicted her of her sinful state and accepted the Living Water, Jesus Christ as her Lord.
Likewise, when we too confess our sins, God will be gracious to us and help us to live a holy life. The Living Water will flow in us and through us.
“He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy” (Proverbs 28:13).
Yes! To have the grace of God in your life, confess your sins and forsake them. Then His grace will flow into your life. He will wash you with His precious blood and give you peace. He will draw you closer to Him and help you live a Holy life.
Prayer:
Loving Father,
I come to your Holy presence in all humility. Lord, I confess my sins to You. Have mercy and graciously pardon me. Wash me with Your blood and help me to live a holy life. Draw me closer to You and fill my life with peace. In Jesus name I pray.
