THE REWARD FOR FAITHFULNESS!Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: God will remember every good thing you do to Him and bless you in thousand fold manner! Dear friend, Today let us see what is the faithfulness that the Lord expects of us? God will remember every good thing you do for Him and bless you in a thousand fold return. Jesus said, “Whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward" (Mathew 10:42).
What does the Bible says about Moses? It testifies that, “Moses was faithful in all His house” (Hebrews 3:2). What did he do to be faithful? He was faithful in honouring the commandments of the Lord. He did exactly whatever the Lord commanded. The Lord said, “Go and speak to the Pharaoh.” He went and spoke boldly without any fear. The Lord confirmed His words by signs and wonders. God said, “Stretch forth your rod upon the red sea.” He implicitly obeyed, stretched out the rod and the red sea divided into two. All the people crossed the red sea.
Similarly, the Lord gave testimony about King David. “I have found David, the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, who will do my will” (Acts 13:22).
Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, But who can find a faithful man? (Proverbs 20:6). Yes, the Lord seeks faithfulness in men. In “Jesus Calls” ministry too it is so. Before entrusting my father with any new project, the Lord appears to him and gives him the details clearly and definitely what to do. Before commencing any project, God gives a command like, “Build a 24 hour Prayer Tower, raise a University, start the Television ministry, conduct campaign in this town, proclaim My Word through magazine, website etc.” He shares that with us also. Then, as a family and with the help of “Jesus Calls” partners we execute them.
When we communicate the plan through magazine, some will mock at us but many will say, “We should carry out whatever plan God gives us, Brother. We will stand by you and strengthen you.” Such people are the partners of “Jesus Calls” ministry.
There were the partners with Jesus too. We read about an incident in the Gospel according to St. Mark when a sinful woman, who was cleansed and sanctified by the Lord, poured the oil of spikenard and anointed the head of Jesus. She might have done this good deed as an attitude of gratitude with the thought, “The Lord took me out of miry pit. He washed and cleansed me. What shall I pay for this great act of love? Let me spend all my money and honour Him.” The people who were around her at that time murmured and said, “Why are you wasting this fragrant oil on Jesus? This might have been sold for more than 300 dinarii and given to the poor.” The disciples of Jesus also grumbled likewise.
But, Jesus said, “Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for me. She has done what she could. This good deed will be proclaimed throughout the world.” He said so because she had applied the balm beforehand to the body that was to be bruised upon the cross.
Friend, God records everything you do for Him, supporting Him with your financial gifts, prayers, or in any way you could and crowns you with blessings in manifold manner. He sets you on high. He will look at the devil that afflicts you and all those who cause trouble in your life and rebuke them saying, “Do not touch my people!” At His command they will flee from you.
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We humble ourselves and come to Your Most Holy presence. Father, Your word says, that You seek faithful people, we saw how Moses was faithful in all of Your House. Help me to be faithful too in everything and be a person after Your own heart to do Your will. In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen. |
