MY CHILDSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: God the Father, delights in calling you, “My child!” God promises to be your Father (2 Corinthians 6:18). The Almighty God, seated on a throne in heaven, who is the creator and controller of the Universe, living in a marvelous light where none can enter desires to be your Father. He delights in calling you, “My child!”
When He becomes your Father, you are being transformed into His likeness. He makes you look like Jesus and for this He fills you with His own Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:18).
"how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. (Acts 10:38)
'And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams (Acts 2:17).
When God’s spirit fills you, the nature of God comes into you. The spirit of telling lies, stealing, cheating, hating, fighting and evil pleasures of this world will go but God’s spirit would come into you. You will get the nature of God and it is His desire that you should be transformed into His likeness while in this world.
Many years ago, this incident happened in the life of mother Teresa.
“Mother! I very much desire to serve the people like you.” One day a rich girl declared with enthusiasm. “Show me a way by which I can serve the people.” Mother was very happy over her desire. She smiled at her. “My daughter! Take that towel hanging on the curtain. Pick up that bucket with water. Collect the medicines from the table.” That girl did what mother told her with undiminished enthusiasm. Then mother pointed her hands to a corner. “My daughter! Go and clean the wounds of that man.” She gladly lifted the bucket in one hand and holding the medicines and towel in the other walked towards the person whom mother had pointed. At close quarters she saw the wounds of the leper. Her nostrils smelt the stink emanating from his wounds. It was a horrible sight. With a ghastly look, she turned her face and ran back to mother. “Mother! I just cannot look at those wounds. How can I clean it?” She shrugged her shoulders. “Mother! Please give me something else to do. I cannot do this. I simply can’t do this.”
Mother smiled at that girl. She took the bucket from her, along with the towel and medicines. Humbly she went near the leper. Speaking sweet words that comforted him, overcome by love and affection she cleansed the wounds of the leper. Then she slowly applied medicines. Great joy filled the soul of that leper. That girl ran to mother once again. “Mother! How are you able to do this? You do this with great joy. How? Are you not taken aback by this awful sight? How is it possible for you to clean somebody’s wounds? ” “My darling child! When I clean the leper’s wounds with tenderness, I consider these wounds as those of the crucified Christ. The One who gave His body to be whipped for us. The love and power of God flows out of me and that is how I am instrumental in bringing healing to that broken-hearted soul. ”
Today, my dear Friend, when the spirit of God comes into you, God's love flows into you and the nature of God flows out of you. Then people who see you will declare, “Jesus Christ is seen in this person.” For this reason alone the Lord desires to become your Father. The world is longing to see Jesus. It can see Jesus through you. You can carry the love of the Lord and power of His healing into this world. As the power of the Holy Spirit comes into you, you become like Jesus. Perhaps everyone shuns you for your nature. Don’t be worried. Today God will fill you with His Holy Spirit. This is the promise that God has given you and therefore fulfill the promise He has given you today.
Prayer:
Loving Lord,
I thank You for granting me the authority to be called Your child. I also praise You from the bottom of my heart for the Spirit of adoption by which I can call out to You, Abba Father.” Transform me into Your likeness and fill me with Your power. Help me carry Your love and compassion to this world. May the people see Your likeness reflected in me.
All glory, honour and praises belong to You.
Amen. |
