BE CONFIDENT Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: Cheer up and rejoice because you have a Lord, who will comfort you in your comfortless times. Trials and tribulations tend to make you depressed. It tries to pull you away from trusting God. Do you feel that your life is crushed under the burden of tribulations? Do not be troubled. "And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;and perseverance, character; and character, hope" (Romans 5:3,4).
In the midst of all tribulations His presence will be with you forever and keep you under His mighty protecting wings. When you seek His feet with confidence, He would surely help you. This confidence in God in the end will bring you honour and no more sorrow.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)
Therefore, cheer up and rejoice because you have a Lord, who understands all your feelings.
God permitted His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to go through the path of afflictions for us and before He was crucified He prayed with great agony (Luke 22:44). He was a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief (Isaiah 53:3). He offered up prayers and supplications with vehement cries and tears (Hebrews 5:7). Even while bearing all these sufferings God looked at the happiness that was in store for Him. “..looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2).
He passed through the path of misfortune to liberate us from all our sorrows. Just as He rejoiced in the midst of agony, we also must endure all our sufferings with the confidence that the Lord has in store for us a great happiness. He would offer us exceeding joy. Let us run patiently the race set for us.
“In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:6,7)
Dear friend, the confidence that you have in God will comfort you. He will surely turn your mourning to happiness. There is surely an end to all your misery. So, in your patience possess your souls (Luke 21:19).
Prayer:
Loving Lord,
I have the confidence in You that You will help me to live a successful life. Remove all my sorrows and restore happiness in double fold. Help me to travel taking the right path in my life’s journey knowing that all these trials and tribulations are just for a little while. Strengthen me this day because I know that You alone have the power to transform my mourning to happiness. Bless me and keep me as a source of blessing to others.
